Chapter 51: Yellow Town (2)

Three days quickly passed and on the fresh morning of the third day,

The dawn after a long night,

In the glow, Mu Suyin and little Myah leisurely sat on the seat of a horse cart.

Shortly, they leave through the old wooden gate of the Dandelion Village with Bumpkin playfully pulling on the horse cart.

With its strength as a mid-stage Rank 1 War Soul, Bumpkin could effortlessly pull the horse cart without breaking a sweat.

They steadily traveled through a vast sea of the gilded dandelion flowers, the ripening golden cornfield, and the thriving rice paddies.

On the journey,

Accompanied with the bird's crisp warbles was the rehearsed rhyme of Bumpkin's drumming hooves. It played along the narrowed cobblestone road.

...

ScreechhHHHHHH!!!

...

"Grandma, what is that strange cry? Myah suddenly feels so warm and comfortable." As a long-drawn screech resounded from the horizon, Myah tugged his grandma's sleeve and asked curiously.

"It sounds even better than the roosters back at the village. I have never heard of it before, and it was so soothing too."

While admiring the tiny gleaming ray of golden light darting through the sky above in the incomparably faraway distance, Mu Suyin laugh.

She smoothly petted Myah's head and explained,

"On our continent,

"There existed many mysterious and unique mighty Legendary Creatures. The piercing cry just now belongs to one such being—the Brilliant Dawn Phoenix. Even though it rarely appears. But when one is lucky enough, they would unexpectedly encounter it fly in the sky on a fiery summer day. Just like us."

As Mu Suyin spoke, the Brilliant Dawn Phoenix also swiftly faded into the horizon.

Even though the Brilliant Dawn Phoenix flew incredibly high in the sky, the lucky encounter lasted barely a few seconds with its incredible flying speed.

"Is it more powerful than you, grandma?" Myah yawned and asked.

"Certainly, the Brilliant Dawn Phoenix is much more powerful than me, even when I'm at the peak of my strength.

"It's said that once a Spirit Beast reached a certain rank, they would go through a trial, evolve, and ultimately became a Legendary Creature.

"Moreover, each Legendary Creature was a unique existence with their own peculiar, extraordinary abilities that went beyond men's imagination." While they enjoyed the casual morning breeze, Mu Suyin answered thoughtfully.

There are many thoughts on her mind.

...

As time passed slowly in a calm manner, Myah leaned against Mu Suyin's left side.

The little guy listened to her short lectures quietly while randomly clutching and squishing the Bouncing Slime resting on his lap.

It was the same slime that Myah caught from the lake a few days ago.

According to his grandma, his pet Bouncing Slime has a brighter brown color.

Hence Myah decided to name it Caramel.

"Grandma, can Bumpkin become a Legendary Creature too?"

Hearing Myah's casually asked question, Mu Suyin paused for a moment and contemplated for some time. Many things flashed through her eyes.

After a brief while, she finally responded,

"Grandma doesn't know, Myah.

"It's all up to you.

"All War Souls requires a suitable path of evolution formula to advanced and evolved. There were no exceptions, well, not to my knowledge anyway.

"Nevertheless, grandma believes that no matter what type of War Soul, even one with the least potential, there would always be a path for them to reach the zenith of evolution.

"Some said all roads ultimately lead to the same destination. Still, many failed on the way while wandering around in a circle. In the pursuit of greatness, they perished and crumbled to dust along with the incessant river of time.

"Since the ancient era when the final light of Gods faded.

"The world was filled with darkness and chaos,

"As mankind and their War Souls struggle and walked through the eras, the road has never once been easy.

"Myah, you must be brave and explore, discover your own path, and one day in the near future. Perhaps, your dream will become a reality."

As Mu Suyin finished with her words, she turned and takes a look at Myah but only to discover he had already fallen asleep with his mouth drooling.

She then smiled helplessly.

In the past three days, the little guy was so excited about their trip to the town that he hadn't been able to fall asleep.

Actually, in addition to the soothing cry of the Brilliant Dawn Phoenix and the training Myah goes through every day, it would come as a surprise if he can stay awake any longer.

Seeing Bumpkin getting sidetracked with the fruits on the road, Mu Suyin immediately scolded. "That thing in your mouth has a harmful numbing effect. Swallow, and it will paralyze you for a day."

Startled, Bumpkin shivers and quickly spits out a tiny green berry onto the ground with a disgusted expression.

'How terrible.' (Bumpkin)

Smack!

"We are not even halfway to the town yet, and you are already like this?

"Stop dally dilly and hurry up!

"Don't think for a second that after becoming Myah's War Soul and I would have no way to deal with you."

It was nearly sunset when Mu Suyin and Myah arrived in front of the Southern gate of Yellow Town with the horse cart.

As they traveled on the main road, powerful Spirit Beasts seldom appeared in the open while all the weaker ones were easily scared away with a little display of intimidation.

The journey was uneventful, and it was neither too slow nor too fast.

Like many other big cities and towns,

Yellow Town was protected by a magically enhanced stone wall.

While connected like a circle, the defense wall was roughly about fifteen meters high, with four separate gates in the four subsequent directions.

Such fundamental defense was essential in case of a sudden beast tide, despite the many Adventurers traveling in the wilderness.

Furthermore, to accommodate tens of thousands of people and their War Souls, the road inside the town was extensive with lots of spaces.

There are various fantastical large structures included Smithies, Potion Shops, Inns, Taverns, Beast Center, and many others, with high traffic of people who come and go monotonously.

Among these, the styles of the town's buildings tilted more toward the side of a western medieval context but are varied with other features.

Here,

You could easily discern numerous Adventurers wearing stylish leather and metal armor. They were casually strolling on the street with their respective War Soul while the knight garrison was going about with their patrol duty.

Especially in the recent time,

Yellow Town seems to be even more exciting and packed than the previous year.
