She tried to block out the muttering, then the falling over several times before finally, he collapsed on the porch, where he called her name over and over again with what varied between intense longing and snarky antics. It almost killed her not to go to him, to either scream at him or shut him up with a passionate kiss. But she refused. After she bared her heart to him and offered up a truce, a real chance at something between them, he threw it all back in her face so she walked away without a second glance.
