Chapter 33: New Perspective

Someone was pounding on his bedroom door relentlessly. Zane lifted his head from beneath the pillows to look towards the sky beyond the open windows. It was barely dawn.

“Go away,” he muttered, throwing his head back under the covers.

But the intruder did not ‘go away’ instead they slammed open the door and footsteps hurried along to the side of his bed. Before Zane could demand that they leave, the covers were ripped away from him and he was hit with the chill of the morning air.

“Get up,” Sera’s voice met his ears, “We need to train.”

He opened an eye and looked at her. Her face was set with tenacity. She wasn’t going to leave him alone until he did as she commanded. Pest.

Sera tried to ignore his bare chest and the sculpted muscles that led down his stomach and beneath the sheets.

“This is not an acceptable hour to be up,” he groaned, trying to roll away from her.

She reached out and grabbed his shoulders, attempting to drag him from the bed.
