Sean entered the observation room to the sound of laughter. The DA and Mike Gladstone chortled even more when they saw him. He broke into a smile. “She’s good,” he admitted.
“Sean, the errand boy.”
Gladstone was getting way too much pleasure out of this. So Sean ignored him and watched the scene in the next room.
Small talk emanated from the speakers.
“I wish she’d just get to it,” Sean mumbled.
“She’s softening him up for you,” Gladstone said.
Sean snorted, but knew his colleague spoke the truth. She could soften steel. Well, soften wouldn’t be the right word. Anyway, God knows she had worked her magic on him. For once he wanted to know more about someone than if they screamed when they came.
“Does the name Jill Prince mean anything?” Jen asked Bill.
He licked his lips and continued with his fidgeting. “She’s one of the girls killed?”
"Did you know her before you read about her in the paper?”
