A Day In Life (3 February)

~Every time I close my eyes, the nightmare haunted me down~

"No… No… Eve… No!"

Victor woke from his sleep abruptly. His face was all covered with cold sweat and his heart was pondering real hard. There were tears on his cheek as well. He had a short breath for a while until he managed to calm himself down.

"That dream again?" He rubbed his face roughly and wiped the tears. Waking up from that nightmare was the only time you would find him dripping tears or even cry. He then looked at the clock on his desk. It was 2 in the night. "Oh my god, my head is killing me." His head was aching so much, no matter what he did.

Victor rested his body on his bed. Although he closed his eyes, he couldn't sleep at all. If he did, the nightmare he had would come again and again.

Four hours had passed and Victor didn't sleep a wink. The nightmare haunted him down, every time he slept. "Ughh…." He moved to the mirror in his bathroom and looked at his reflection.

That was a boy with ice blue hair and eyes. His eyes were as cold as ice with black eye bags under them. He looked so tired from countless sleepless nights. Enough watching his reflection, Victor turned the tap and washed his face. He had to start a new day after all.

After preparing himself, he left his apartment for Evelyne's. It became his habit to visit Evelyne every morning before he went to his campus. Besides making sure she was alright and woke her up, he also had an obligation to Evelyne's parents to protect her.

Both he and Evelyne were living by themselves in their own apartment unit. Evelyne's parents were too busy with their work and would check on her once in a while. When Evelyne became close to Victor and her parents trusted him, eventually, they asked him to take care of their only daughter.

It was different with Victor. He had cut ties with his family a long time ago. Well, his father was a rich man with numerous wives by his side. As a result, he had numerous kids and one of them was Victor. Victor, who hated his father for that, decided to leave the family. His father didn't realise it, he was so careless regarding his children and only transferred a large amount of money to everyone who registered as his children (including Victor).

A few minutes later, Victor arrived at Evelyne's apartment. It was 6.45 when he entered the apartment. "Evelyne! Wake up!" He shouted and knocked on her door.

After what happened on the first day of uni, Evelyne woke up right after Victor called her. She didn't want to make that boy worry over her just because she was too tired and hard to wake up in the morning.

"Hey, Vict," she opened the door. The first thing that Victor saw behind the door was a girl, who was still closing her eyes, walking out. "Good morning Vict," said Eve as she rubbed her eyes.

Looking at this sight, Victor couldn't help but chuckle. "Go and wash your face then get ready." He messed Evelyne's head up.

Because she had just woken up, Evelyne had no strength to get angry at Victor. She just nodded and left for her bathroom, while Victor waited for her in the kitchen. As usual, after she got dressed she cooked for Victor. She never liked him to eat too much unhealthy fast food.

"Here, be careful on your way!" When she finished preparing the breakfast, she gave it to Victor and let him go to his campus first.

His campus was located around ten minutes from Avi's apartment. He got out of his car after he parked it and walked into the building. As usual, he stole everyone's attention, especially the girls.

Unlike with Evelyne, when Victor was on campus like this, he tended to push everyone away from him. He disliked the attention that he got from people, moreover if they only came to him for unimportant reasons.

Victor was a straight A's student in the medical faculty, so it was reasonable if he attracted attention. But the attention he got made him uncomfortable. The girls used to be hungry for his attention. They tried every method they could to get his heart, but up to now, they never succeeded.

"Do you want to try this? I cook it especially for you." A girl dressed extravagantly approached him. Every eye was looking at them, wondering if the girl succeeded in getting his heart. As always, she failed. Victor didn't even glance at her, let alone answering.

Not only the girls, but the boys were also trying to get his good side. Since Victor was well known by the lecturer, everyone who was close with him most likely would be recognized as well. Yet, Victor, he disliked it all. No matter how hard they tried to get closer to him, Victor would reject them coldly.

'Ugh, so annoying.' Victor gritted his teeth.

That day he only had a small business at the campus to do before he went to the hospital later on. If it wasn't for the book he needed to pick from his professor, he wouldn't have stepped foot on campus for this semester.

"Here's the book," said the professor as handed a book when he met him. "How's your life at the hospital? I bet you learn fast from the doctor you assisted."

With a polite answer, Victor answered. "Thanks to him I learned a lot. He showed me everything I lacked and needed to pay more attention."

His professor nodded. "Alright. You cannot be late. You can go now."

Victor then left the campus to the hospital. The Golden Crest Hospital, the best hospital in the country. That was the same hospital where Raimon, his older cousin, worked after he graduated.

After parking his car, Victor entered the hospital and walked to the staff room. Unlike at the campus, here he didn't get much attention since everyone was busy with their own work. In the staff room, he put his bag in his locker and wore his white coat. Afterward, he walked to his station where the other students also gathered.
