|| The Attack

“Seal the doors!” the Queen commanded, but before they could close it I dashed swiftly through the door. Behind me I heard two faint male voices and a female voice yell my name, I had no choice but to run. I didn’t know I had such stamina that the guards too couldn’t catch me. The night was dark and silent, ahead of me was an open forest and beside it was a path leading to the gates we first entered through. At first I decided to go through it but then decided against it as I could not go past the closed gates before getting eaten alive.

A terrifying howl filled the dead silence, adrenaline pumped through my veins as I ran faster towards the forest, I had kicked my heels off somewhere behind. I felt the ground vibrate. My heart dropped in my stomach. The creature growled at me, sprinting on it’s four just behind me, my lungs demanded air but I couldn't stop just yet. I rushed through the bushes, and through the dry branches. My bare feet crushing the twigs and dead leaves as I sprinted along.

"I'm so sorry" she whispered, her sad voice cracked- I pushed the memory deep inside to where it belonged.

Finally, when I heard no sound of life, I came to a halt, breathing very hard. I looked around and found no terrifying -- looking -- creature. What the hell were they?

I sigh as I notice my pretty gown got several holes due to running through the dry and sharp branches. Right below my knee there was a big hole. I ripped it off with my hand, changing my full-size gown into a knee length frock - that will help a lot in running.

I heard a twig snap, and I quickly started sprinting again like there is no tomorrow. This time I could run even more swiftly, thank goodness that I ripped my gown off.

“Stop!” yelled a male orotund voice.

I didn’t stop, I was terrified those eyes were still haunting me, “Stop right there!” the voice commanded again.

Reluctantly I had to stop on my tracks, my heart was racing and my legs were demanding some rest. I turned on my heels, expecting to meet a guard but instead met with stunning amber eyes in the distance, my eyes widened in shock.

Prince Rendell.

My vision had been improved and even if it was dark I could make out his face, it was hard and cold. His eyes were shining with rage. The Prince said something to me but my gaze shifted on someone behind him.

The color drained from my face. Fear struck me hard, paralyzing me entirely. I couldn’t inhale or blink.

A monster that looked like a gigantic dog with human qualities. It’s facial features looked somewhat like a human, it stood on its hind legs that looked like a very strong dog and were covered in thick black fur. The thing that terrified me the most was its size, it was almost double of myself.

The creature jumped on its four towards the Prince, I was so horror- struck that my hand involuntarily raised towards the creature and I yelled at the prince to move. My palm burned and energy shot through it. It attacked the creature, throwing it several meters away from us.

My mouth dropped.

The Prince’s gaze fixed on something behind me, in a moment he was there - and then he was gone.

Before I could comprehend what was happening, Pain exploded on my back. I screamed my lungs out before landing on my knees, something dripped from my back on my shoulder and then dripped on my arm, I focused on it- Crimson. Blood. I turned around, my vision blurry with tears and noticed the Prince swiftly twisting its snout, it growled louder making me shudder.

Black spheres danced around my vision, making me dizzy. I heard two unfamiliar voices. Out of nowhere a strong smell of blood hit my nostrils. I needed to get away, I stood again on my wobbly feet and began to run away from that place.

I could barely run, the pain on my back was numbing all my senses. Behind me, awful bone cracking noises and ear-piercing growls were being sounded. I turned and caught the sight of- now, many guards fighting against those monsters, I recognized one, it was that Prince. I leaned my shoulder against one of the trees, my back was in agony. I was afraid that if I screamed, those creatures would find me so I just trembled with fear and silently wished for someone to help me, my vision became blurry and I struggled to keep myself awake.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps coming towards me before darkness engulfed me.

HIS ROYAL HIGH PRINCE RYKER ALDRIDGE

I watched as my brother quickly created an illusion of himself before rushing behind the girl. When did he start believing that I’m dumb?

Two boys started arguing about opening the doors, the one with sandy hair was even about to start a fight. My, my, they were extremely hideous.

I could sense that something was wrong, but who cares, I hope my brother dies out there. I had already got the scent of werewolves before this event had started. They aren’t even allowed in our realm nor are we in theirs. I glanced at my mother who was giving orders to the guards.

‘We have got a few uninvited guests,’ Rendell told me through his telepathy.

‘What is it my very dear brother,’ I asked mocked. I focused around me until I linked with every source of energy. I snapped it and the time froze. I smirked at myself as everything in the hall stopped, and I swiftly ran out of the Galle behind my lunatic brother.

‘Come here now!’ He commanded, ‘And do not tell mother’

Who does he think he is giving me orders?

I reached the inside of the forest in a blur. Not because he told me so but because it has been a really long time since I have fought with werewolves. There was my very dear brother who was bravely fighting off those pathetic werewolves, I cocked my head sideways and joined him.

‘Where is the girl,’ he grunted, snapping a werewolf’s neck in one swift motion.

‘What girl?’ I asked back as I smashed one of the werewolves in a tree. The tree groaned and splinters of wood rained from its bark.

Soon the guards joined us. Well. I forgot to stop the time around them. Sad. They joined and defended us from them. It was pretty surprising considering that werewolves never stepped in our realm since the War.

ADRIA POV

Warmth engulfed me, surrounding me with security and peace. I didn’t want to wake up. Half dreaming, I inhaled the calming sandalwood scent, moving my hand and felt the soft silk bed sheet underneath me. I was sandwiched between a heavy and warm comforter. As I slowly gained consciousness, I heard a hushed argument.

“…and the rest?” a sharp voice asks faintly. There is a grunt in response. “Sometimes you should take advice from me.”

I force my eyes open. Light blinds me and it takes me a few seconds to adjust to it. I quickly push away the warm comforter, this is definitely not my bed.

I sit up, and groan as my back sends shocks of pain, what happened? I froze as I found the two princes staring at me from a distance. Even if the room was dimly lit, I could easily spot them exchanging some notes. This is DEFINITELY not my room.

“Hi.” The adonis with beautiful green eyes says, his voice having a thick accent. They seem familiar, but I can’t exactly figure out who.

“Why am I here?” I blurt out without thinking. I wince as the wind coming from the open windows touches my back. I’m in a plain white gown, I don’t remember coming here.

“That–” He places a hand over his heart, “–is definitely not what you say to the person who saved you,”

There’s a cough, and I noticed the other prince. Leaning against the farthest wall was the second son, he also had familiar stunning amber eyes, his arms crossed over his chest, watching us silently.

“Right. it was him who saved you, but i volunteered too.”

Memories of monsters come rushing in my mind, oh my god I was attacked my those terrifying monsters and there was Prince Rendell–

“Why is,” Prince Ryker, who took a seat on the corner of the bed, asked, “une belle gosse like you being attacked by a werewolf?”

Werewolf?

Oh my god they were werewolves!
