"Zoey what are you doing here". A husky voice asks yanking the girls attention to him. It's the shoe thief, Karen's eyes widen sighting at the guy that stole her snickers earlier at her backyard.
"B bro". Zoey's eyes widen.
"Yes, what are you doing here and who is she. Hasn't Mom asked you not to talk to strangers". Charles threw scolding looks at his little sister.
"She's not a stranja b bro, she's my fwend, right". She asks her eyes moving to Karen's, pleading her to back her up. Charles's eyes moved to Karen as well.
"Yes, I was just showing zoe my drawing". She smiles sweetly at him, easily lying and even giving zoey a nickname. Wait Karen never lies. Well about from lying about her identity, hehe.
"Really, zoey what's her name". Charles gives his sister a suspicious eyes. Oh-uh now they're done for.
"Princess". Zoey smile at her big brother.
"Really, how can a person's name be princess".
"It is, she's beutipul like a princess". Karen smiles at the little girl.
"Zoey let's go home now, go wait for me in the car". Charles says with finality in his voice.
"But.."
"No buts, to the car". Charles points at the parking lot. Zoey starts to walk but then stopped and waved goodbye to Karen.
"Am sorry about my sister, she always wanders around and talks to strangers". Charles smiled at Karen. Karen only gave him a tight smile. She doesn't like this guy.
But the fact can't be ignored, his drool Worthy handsome. But she would never admit it.
His never seen her around and it seems she doesn't like him, you could easily tell with all the glares she's throwing his way.
Girls throw themselves at him but this girl right here didn't even return his smile.
She should be lucky she got a smile from Charles lee lewiston. Girls dream of his smile.
Ok that hurt his ego a little.
"Do you live around here". He voices his earlier thought.
"Nope, my Dad recently got transferred here". Karen lied.
"Oh is a wonder I've never seen you around. Do you school here". Charles was just curious, he needs to know more about this mistyrious girl, she might be tree girl.
Karen only nodded at his question. She wanted him to go already. For some reason she feels his bad luck and wants to stay way from him anyway possible.
"What's your name". Charles asked.
"I don't tell my name to strangers". Karen reply's.
"Cool then, I'll just call you princess like my sister does". Charles says sitting on the bench next to Karen. Karen ignored him concentrating on her drawing, he might just go away she thought.
"Nice dress". Charles says startling her, hovering over her shoulder.
"Isn't your sister waiting for you in the car". Karen asked raising her eyebrow.
Charles eyes unknowingly travelled to her eyebrows. So thick and dark.
He jumped back to reality when she glared at him.
"Can't wait to get rid of me ai".
"Took you that long to figure out". Karen murmurs but loud enough for him to hear.
"Ouch, that hurts". Charles puts his hand on the right side of his chest mocking hurt. But her behavior truly hurt his ego.
Karen rolled her eyes but didn't say anything.
"Ok then I'll be going now princess, don't miss me too much". Charles says standing up. His sister must be waiting for him. He doesn't want her to wonder around the park alone again. She earlier tricked him and ran off. She was playing with a few other kids so he had sat with some parents to watch them play but he unfortunately dozed off to sleep. When he woke up his sister was no where to be seen and that wasn't the first time she's disappeared.
Karen didn't even look up to look at him so he sighed and walked away with a bruised ego.
Karen glared at his retiring back. She likes his sister but definitely not him. She doesn't even know his name but his among the school jocks, whatever it doesn't matter anyways. It's not like they'll meet again, well so she thought.
And even if she sees him from afar she'll run.
Putting that thought aside Karen continued drawing and only left to grab dinner when the sun began to yawn. She hadn't even eaten lunch. If Mrs Williams or her Dad knew about this they would shake their heads in disapproval.
There was a restaurant close to the park so she walked there not bothering to take her car.
"Princess". A young voice cheers from a far running towards Karen. They only met once but this girl is already attached to her.
Zoey ran towards Karen and gave her a big hug with her tiny arms.
"Zeo". Karen's voice was filled more with unsureness than enthusiasm. She somehow hates it when people get close to her. It may be because of the fact that she's been alone for way too long.
"Whah are you doin here". Zeoy asks her innocent eyes starring at Karen.
"Am here to eat dinner".
"Really, b bro can we sit with her". Karen didn't notice Zoey's brother standing above them and watching them.
"Sure sis". A smile creeped into Charles face. He loves annoying his princess for some unknown reasons.
The two sat, Zoey at Karen side and Charles directly opposite Karen. This is too much excitement and drama for a day, Karen thought. She thought it would all end when they left but they came right back that same day.
They all ordered their food and started eating, Zoey mostly talking to Karen.
"Are you a real princess". Zoey asks. Karen loves how Zoey's innocent big eyes stared at her. Her eyes spelt innocent while her brothers spelt mischievousness and trouble. Karen set her mind to stay away from him, well about from today. This is actually the third time she's seeing him today. It's terribly bad for her health.
