Did Someone Call for an Arsonist?

After an extremely pregnant silence, after nimbly dodging his way around several more boulders, Eidiri said, "Like seriously I'm drawing blanks here. It would be really great if y'all got some ideas before we get squished to death."

More silence was all that responded.

"Okay like seriously guys!" Eidiri yelled.

"We don't have any clue either man!" yelled Edgar.

"Okay then, I'll just have to improvise then," Eidiri said, "Great, just great. Edgar what are you carrying in your pack?" he asked.

"Nothing much really, it's just got the ores that we looted before. I made sure to travel light to carry the loot we bring back," Edgar replied.

"Fair enough," Eidiri nodded. "What bout you Ken?" he then asked.

"I've just got just a little food here. Nothing much just some basic supplies as well, things like rope and all that," Ken replied.

"You still got any extra matches from before or did you use them all already?" Eidiri asked.

"Umm..." Ken's voice trailed off as he rooted around in his bag, still anxiously running around to dodge the boulders.

After a brief moment, Ken replied, "Yea I've still got a couple of matches left. Why?"

Eidiri's lips curled into a wicked grin, "Oh yes. This is gunna be good. We're gonna set this roast this bastard and bring it down to our level."

"Ken, we'll try to distract this thing! You go and see if you can go and set this thing on fire," Eidiri said.

"I'll take care of this, you just hold its attention for long enough," Ken replied running to one of the strands of webbing.

"Hey, Sha'Varsk! You gunna be a coward and stay up there or what?" yelled Edgar.

In response to Eidiri's taunts, Sha'Varsk surprisingly replied, "And why would I deign to obey the requests of lesser creatures?"

"Your natural place is beneath your betters, now shut up and die!" Sha'Varsk yelled its booming voice slightly echoing through the cavern.

Several more rocks were hurled at Eidiri, a great blast of earth detonating upon where Eidiri had just been.

As Eidiri kept on running, the rocks narrowly trailed him, coming closer and closer to the anxious figure of Eidiri.

To keep some of the heat off of Eidiri, Edgar continued the taunting, "Wow big man like you! Sitting up there on your high horse and all that! Must be real proud sitting on your web and all that! Truly a marvelous figure you cut there!" he taunted.

Sha'Varsk's hundreds of beady eyes turned to Edgar homing in on his location, "You are not worthy of my full attention bug. Now join your friend and go ahead and die."

Sha'Varsk acted like the taunts didn't actually affect it, however, while it outwardly maintained its facade of cold calm, its actions displayed quite the disparity when Sha'Varsk speeding up its flinging.

Its legs whirled furiously ripping large chunks of stone from the walls before hurling them downwards with great strength.

Time and time again the boulders would impact upon where Eidiri and Edgar had just been, the 2 of them just barely dodging out of the way before they were brutally crushed.

In the meanwhile, as Eidiri and Edgar kept Sha'Varsk preoccupied with the rock-throwing, Ken had snuck past several piles of spiderling corpses before reaching a large strand of the web, anchored securely into the wall.

When he approached the web, several chunks of rock that were loosened from Sha'Varsk's rapid destruction of the walls came hurtling from up above.

Dodging out of the way, Ken narrowly avoided the falling boulders, however, these falling rocks blocked off the great strand of webbing.

Sighing in slight frustration, Ken could only give up on this strand of webbing, especially seeing how he wouldn't up able to climb up the rocks that just fell to reach the webbing.

The sides of them were too sheer, he'll slide right off.

Observing this, Ken scurried off to the nearest available strand of webbing he could see, ducking and weaving through the piles of destruction, trying his hardest to avoid the attention of Sha'Varsk.

Anxiously, Eidiri and Edgar could only keep on dodging the boulders that just kept on coming from above. They didn't know just what was taking Ken so long, and they didn't dare to verbalize their confusion in fear that the matriarch would take notice.

Just when Edgar was about to dodge another rock, disaster struck.

He had just jumped out of the way of one rock, only to land in the impact zone of another.

This rock crushed his arm, pinning him underneath despite Edgar's desperate attempts to free himself.

Seeing this, Eidiri tried to run over, weaving between the disfigured battlefield, trying to go and help free Edgar.

Seeing that it had finally nailed one of the little infuriating insects, Sha'Varsk cackled wildly, "Your comrade has now been trapped. You bugs are doomed! Doomed!"

While Sha'Varsk stupidly monologues to itself, Ken had already made his way to the next strand of webbing, and now he was swiftly trying to light the match, fumbling it slightly before it finally got it burning.

He then slowly put the match to the rope-like webbing, breathing on it slightly to feed the flame.

This flame started out as a weak ember but as Ken continued to nurture it despite the insane ramblings of Sha'Varsk overhead, Ken had gradually spread the fire so that it had enveloped the entirety of the base of the webbing strand.

This fire gradually spread across the web, spreading to the rest of the web.

By the time that Sha'Varsk had already noticed it, the base of the web was already entirely alight, the ashy fumes fanning upwards into its eyes.

The foundation of the web slowly starting collapsing as it was all surrendered to the whims of the flame.

The strands of the web started to sway unsteadily, Sha'Varsk shrieking wildly in shock and indignation.

As it started to lose its balance, Sha'Varsk made moves to try to scurry up and out of the cavern, but its gargantuan size prevented it from doing so.

It's great size and power being it's undoing, unable to escape out of the hungry clutches of the fire.
