Quest Completed, Rewards are Redeemable

They quickly journeyed back to the village, returning back to the forge where Jarid was.

"Hey Master Jarid?" Eidiri called out, "We've finished doing what you've asked!" he called.

Jarid stumbled out of the smithy, "What do you mean boy?" he asked drunkenly.

"Well remember how you asked how you wanted the Caverns of Laroshia to be cleared and all that?" Eidiri said.

"Yea, what about in boy?" Jarid said as his steps swayed slightly.

"Well you may want to take a seat before this. And you would probably also like to sober," Eidiri added on.

"Gimme a sec boy," Jarid gruffly says, walking back into his little backroom.

About a minute later he walked back out of the room, this time without the shaky steps and slight smell of alcohol in his breath.

"Wait what did you just do to sober up so quickly sir?" asked Ken.

"Just a bit of me dwarven brew," Jarid replied, "Anyways, what do you lads got to tell me? Here, I'll even take a seat," Jarid plopped himself on his working bench.

"So go on then, spit it already."

"We've cleared the Caverns Master. If you want to, you can reoccupy the mines again!" Eidiri exclaimed.

"Stop with all that horseshit lad. If even the kingdom's soldiers couldn't get rid of those filthy buggers then could you?" Jarid said with disbelief.

"Well, we did\. You can even check out the dungeon yourself, but for proof, we have the fangs of the Spider Matriarch right here," said Eidiri.

With that said, Eidiri reached into his bag, pulling out the 2 severed fangs that he had cut from the mouth of Sha'Varsk.

With somewhat shaky hands, Jarid reached out and held the fangs of Sha'Varsk carefully.

"You guys actually did it. You bloody bastards actually slew the god-forsaken beast!" tears of joy starting to roll down Jarid's face as he grabbed the 2 of them into a hug, ruffling their hair as he did so.

"I can't believe it! I physically can't believe it! My eyes are telling it's true but still my mind is lagging behind!" Jarid cried.

"I'll have to get everyone together again! We can finally get operations getting together!"

Jarid took several deep breathes to calm himself down, "Okay but that's a matter for another time. For now I'll just hand you your reward and then I'll figure out what's the deal with the mine."

"Now as for a reward, I'll just give a large sum of gold, how bout that? Furthermore, to add on to that I'll make a good weapon out of these fangs you got here," Jarid said as he hefted the fangs around.

"A weapon made out of these should have some poisonous properties to them, suitable to quick skirmishes. It should contain aspects of the Matriarch's deadly paralysis toxin. Or rather 2 weapons since, of course, there are 2 fangs."

"Perhaps twin daggers would be a good thing to make," Jarid mused to himself.

"Anyways, I'll give you the money first before handling the weapon matter," Jarid ran back to the room that he had just been in, after a loud click of a lock, Jarid came back out holding a rather large pouch.

"In here is about 100 gold, should be more than enough for a commission of this level. This'll tide you over for a good while now," Jarid said.

"Thank you very much Master Jarid," Eidiri said, "We won't be bothering you for much longer now, I'm sure you're going to be pretty busy with the news we just dropped on you, we've got our own matters to attend to now as well."

"All right, see ya then lad. I've got me some work to do," Jarid said before turning back with the twin fangs that he had been given.

With that over with, Ken turned to Eidiri, "So what now man?"

"Well, I was going to get some grinding done, maybe a little more exploration, who knows. We should split up the loot though. Without a doubt, Edgar's going to want the Poison Crystal."

"No of course not," Ken sarcastically said.

"Cut the snarking, besides that we've got the boots and the spider silk. Not sure how we're going to split that but I for sure know that I want these boots," EIdiri stated.

"Well I want them too, so how bout we flip a coin and whoever wins gets it?" Ken suggested.

"Yea I'm down with that, no hard feelings though after the winner receives it though," Eidiri agreed.

"For sure, okay I'm calling heads," Ken said before flipping one of the gold pieces that they had just earned.

The coin flew up into the air, twirling and spinning.

When it reached the apex of its brief, momentary flight, the sun glinted off of it at the perfect angle, causing it to sparkle and shine.

Then the coin dropped back down dramatically, landing on the floor.

They both bent over, leaning down to get a better look, "Well look at that, look's like luck is on my side after all today," Eidiri said cheerfully.

"Oh screw off, you got it. No need to rub it in. I'll keep the silk then. Who knows might take up weaving as another side-profession. Screw it," Ken said.

With the matter of loot decided, the 2 parted ways, heading off to take care of their own matters.

The adventures in the Caverns of Laroshia had boosted their levels significantly but Eidiri still wanted to maintain the very significant edge he had over the rest of the player base.

The open-beta would commence tomorrow after all, and a new wave of players would flood in, eager to explore this world of opportunities.

With that in mind, Eidiri decided to move to the zone past the Giant Rat field, his level exceeding that of the rat's making it no longer efficient for him to farm there.

As he journeyed outwards, he decided to pass the time by surfing the forums as he traveled, checking up on what the community was up to as a whole.

Already they were catching up to Eidiri, eagerly nipping at his feet. Some of them had already made posts about obtaining skills from hidden chests, much like how Eidiri had gotten his.

No longer did they wield shoddily made wood weapons, carpenters from real life had fashioned stakes for them to use, selling them at cheap prices.

Very quickly the player base had gotten organized after the initial confusion at the start, and now they were starting to pick up speed.
