Azure Knife

After finishing business with his fellow Protinus members, Eidiri turned back around, leaving the Haven Square that the other players had established.

While he had been strolling around the lively square, he had been inspired by the various shops they had going around.

Of course, Eidiri would still be doing his auction to cater to those who had the big bucks to spend, but Eidiri also wanted to occupy a large portion of the market.

Currently, he was neglecting the needs of the masses.

As of right now, under 50 people had the privilege to wield weapons not made of wood.

As more players flowed in, that would mean that the number of potential customers would increase as well.

Therefore, Eidiri had decided to develop his own store of sorts.

However, to stand out from the crowd, he would be making a store, but with a twist.

Sure the store would sell products like his weapons and all that, maybe even more products from other lifestyle professions if he expanded.

But the twist that he would implement into his own store would be the notorious gacha system.

By exploiting the people's desire for good loot, he could use this 'gambling' system to exploit their gambling instincts also, making them think that if they were just lucky enough, they would be able to obtain great equipment.

And to a certain extent, this was true. Eidiri wouldn't be so low as to lie to the customers about their chances.

However, what he would do is make the rates for the good equipment relatively low.

But that was for another time. Eidiri would have to make the stock and fill these 'gacha boxes'.

'Come to think of it, they do need a name don't they...' Eidiri mused.

'Calling them boxes would be too plain, but I don't want to be audacious either. Hmm... What should I call these?' he asked himself.

After a couple of moments of thought, Eidiri finally struck gold. 'Supply Drops' he decided to call them.

Although he had debated on several other options, the others had sounded far too plain for his liking, making it seem like all the other pay-to-win options that the former generation had to rely on in their mobile games.

Not to mention, considering that these were players that came here to experience the whole new world, the 'Supply Drops' would be like little helpers along their journey.

With this method, Eidiri could spread his reputation, while ensuring profits on his end also.

With this stream of revenue coming in also, he wouldn't have to completely rely on Protinus either should their relationship fall apart.

By developing this channel, he would make himself important in the eyes of higherups, making sure that this would be the foundation to ensure that he couldn't simply be replaced after his initial use had worn out.

With this thought in mind, he wrote up a quick public post to his blog, announcing that not only would he be auctioning weapons, but he would be selling them at set periods of time.

The auctions would only occur once in a while though, and wouldn't be quite as reliable as the new store he was establishing.

Of course, this store was only in name, as Eidiri didn't possess a physical store in-game as of now, for now, he would make do with a simple weapon stall, aiming to upgrade as his power increased.

Nevertheless, this announcement generated quite a stir within the community, many people spammed the comments asking for when the weapons would be sold, where they would be sold, if they could make reservations, etc.

Eidiri merely ignored this for now, opting to solve this issue later while he was waiting for the weapons he would make later to solidify.

Anyways, now that he had organized his thoughts on what he wanted to achieve, Eidiri first decided to create a stock of weapons to sell in the first place, resigning himself to the hot and sweaty forges, grinding out his Forging levels as well.

While Eidiri would follow the blueprint for the majority of the work, he did want to put his own inputs into his work, making slight variations in the pieces.

Sometimes, these changes flopped and caused these weapons to become brittle, leading to cracks spider-webbing on the blades.

However, after constant failures, and experimentations with different materials, Eidiri at times created better products when compared to the blueprint.

One such example was the Vibrant Knife.

The Vibrant Knife originally wasn't remarkable in any fashion, the majority of it being average in all stats.

However, after replacing the materials used with a slightly better quality ore and the Dwarven Son Forging Technique, Eidiri had come across a completely different product.

After he had successfully created this product, a system prompt appeared before Eidiri.

'You have successfully altered the 'Vibrant Knife' into something of your own creation. What would you be willing to name this work?' the system asked.

After Eidiri had applied his own ideas to the knife, it had changed into a simple, unadorned blade.

It no longer possessed the vibrancy that the original 'Vibrant Knife' was known for, and this vibrancy had been replaced with a simple azure hue to the metal, giving it a lustrous look.

As such, Eidiri deemed it fitting to simply call it the 'Azure Knife'.

When Eidiri had finally named the knife, the blueprint for this knife was then placed into Eidiri's archives, now becoming one of the blueprints that he had personally developed.

All future creations of the 'Azure Knife' would have at least a part of the work accredited to the Eidiri for being the creator of the blade.

This method of alteration of currently existing blueprints into his own most certainly intrigued Eidiri, leading to curiosity on how else he could further improve his smithing.

But nonetheless, he continued to farm exp points of the Azure Knife, and when the exp points he received from that blueprint started to dwindle, he moved onto his next work.

As such, Eidiri moved like a machine, having established a relatively efficient system that allowed fo him to pump tens of weapons within the hour.
