Chapter 40

Molly looked at Luna and said, "you should not be trying to cover for such a lazy person." Mia closed her eyes and counted to ten. She took a deep breath and continued to eat her food. Molly stared at Mia in shock but Mia remained quite. Knowing all to well if she would lost it what the punishment would be.

"I am talking to you?" Molly said. "So what, i am eating," Mia replied. "Thats really disrespectfull of you," Molly said. Mai stopped eating got up and walked over to Molly. Looked her in the eye and asked, "tell me, what do you think I am as an elemental user?"

Molly looked at Mia and asked, "are you trying to ask for trouble?" Mia looked at Molly and said, "look i did everything you asked. You call me lazy but you dont even know what happend. Do you know how many times i took the ice of the walls on my appartment? Do you know how many times i wanted to let go of my powers becuase i am angry with my situation?" Mia asked.

"I do not care what i care about is that you are lazy and really stupid," Sally said. Mia desided to show off and started playing with the water that was in a jug not far from her.

She made funny shapes with the water then she used wind to freeze it and fire to unfeeze it. "How did you do that?" Molly asked shocked.

"I have many diffrent elements Molly, i can use my powers to do things. You call me lazy geuss what i can wash my clothes and have them dry within seconds. I am going to geuss you can not do that can you," Mia siad.

"Your cheeting?" Molly said. "O am i cheeting now?" Mia asked. "Yes not one of us can do that?" Molly complained. "I dont think so Molly. You know what i think, i think you dont have any powers and now you are trying to make up for it by using those who has power," Mia said.

"What, i have never been so insulted in my life," Molly said. "But it's the truth, we have never seen you use your power all we heard was that you have power and need protection but we have never seen it," Luna said.

Mike looked at Molly and said, "I treat all members of this base as my family. I will not ask one person to do everyone's chores. This is a base and we are a team," Mike said.

"Molly, there is no I in team work if you want Mia to pull her weight it's okay but she is not an official memebr of our teams yet. As it stand she is a geust and our family memeber. Please do not ask Mia to do everyone's chores for free. Because of all the work, she did the past few days. We can not pay her for it," Kevin siad.

"Off course we will pay Mia but it will have to be out of our own pockets. I will talk to the teams tonight and ask them to help out more around the base. Mia in the mean time we need to figure out how we are going to move forward," Kevin siad.

Mia looked at both her uncles and asked, "can I take Bella out for a walk, I need some fresh air?" Kevin and Mike looked worried but then Red said, "I don't think that is a good idea," Mike said. "She won't be alone, we finished early with our chores so we can go with her, as long as she helps out with tonights chores," Red said.

"Okay then, but be careful and don't take too long, Clara is still watching the base," Mike said.

Mia went to get Bella and together she and her friends took their dogs out for a walk. On the way back Mia saw another ad for a ranger recruitment program. Red looked at the ad and said, "do you think it will be a good idea to try again?" Mia said.

Red looked at the ad and asked, "it's worth a try but what will you do with Bella?" Mia looked at Bella and said, "do you think she will be able to pass the test?" Mia asked.

"I don't know Mia, i didn't train her to do the jobs our dogs does all thought i think if Mike and Kevin agree we can try and see what she can do," Red siad. "She can keep up with me though that must count as something I think I will have trouble if I don't do it in a team formation this time?" Mia siad.

"What do you mean?" Red asked. "The last time I did it solo and everyone thought I was cheating. I think I will need to find a team that can take the test with me?" Mia said.

"I think the rules for this test is different from the one you took before," Luna pointed out. "What do you mean?" Red asked. "Look a team of five is required, at least for has to have work in some form of organization, rescue ranger or investigations all will count. As long as you can proof you can work as a team," Amber said.

"The news memeber will be given a chance to work with your team and if they can proof them selfs to all organizations they will be allowed to join no questions asked," Luna kept reading. The group looked at one another and Red asked Mia, "are you up for this, I mean it would solve a lot of trouble for your uncles if you can get a job on one of the teams," Red said.

"If they agree i think we should give it a try," Mia said. Red took the advertisement down and said, "Amber, Luna you both know that in agreeing with this you will be required to do some extra training," Red asked. "Yes, but I think we have a problem?" Luna said. "What is that?" Red asked. "We are only four members?" Luna said.

"Everyone looked at one another and Amber said, "we will have to ask another memeber of the base to agree on taking the test with us."

Mia, Amber, Luna and Red went to speak with Kevin and Mike. They showed them the add and Red said, "the only problem is we need more members for the team," Red said.

"I like the idea I know Mia will pass with flying colours and having her on the team will be a lot less problems but we will have to check with our superiors if the rules are legit in the meantime see if you can find another member," Mike siad. "They don't have to look any further I can not let Red be the only man on a team of girls so i will join," came a male voice.

"Devon, you don't mind?" Red said. "No, and besides if Mike says Mia can pass this test passing the test should be easy if we work together as a team but one question. Bella is going on this test as well. Did you train her to do a specific job?" Devon asked.

"No not really, but she has the potential to become a good tracker," Red said.

"You mean smell to find something?" Mia asked. "Yes, it's helpful during search and rescue jobs or tracking criminals," Red said. "I can do that, isn't it what we did Sam?" Mia asked. "Yes its the same just in a different way, some dogs can smell many different things but it depends on how you train them," Sam said.

Mia looked at Red who said, "lucky the test is a few weeks away so we might just make it but I have to say training a dog takes a lot of time."

"You did start training her didn't you?" Kevin said. "I thought I might happen so yes I did start she should be ready in time for the test," Red said.

That night Mia stood on the balcony of her apartment and looked at the stars. She remembered her father once said the stars can help gide you at night if you ever get lost. She looked at Bella and somehow felt that everything will be okay.

Early the next morning Mia was waiting for everyone to get to the meeting spot. Kevin was up unusually early and came to Mia, "your up early?" Mia smiled and said, "we didn't want to be late, I remembered something dad said when we lived in a field at one time," Mia said.

"What is that Mia?" Kevin asked. "The stars can be a guide if you are ever lost. He said that if I were ever to get lost I should use the stars. As long as I see the stars I will find my way home no matter where I am," Mia said.

Kevin smiled and said, "your grandfather tought us that skill, I am happy your father taught you that skill as well," Kevin said. "Yes, but he didn't teach me much about teamwork all thought he and mom did their best to teach me," Mia said.

"We will have to see how good your father really trained you, I spoke to the organizers and they said the test will not be easy all thought Mary-Anne is happy to know we are giving it a second shot," Kevin said.

"I can not disappoint my father, I will make both my parents proud where ever they are?" Mia said. "They are already proud of you Mia, that is something you will never have to worry about," Mike said.

Mia got up and looked at both of her uncles and asked, "are you really agreeing to let me do this?" Mia asked. "Yes Mia all thought we are not sure if it is the right thing for you but we are going to give it a shot," Mike said. "Tell me Mia how is your elemental control these days?" Kevin asked. "I am a lot more in control these days then when i was younger," Mia said.

"Well, let's see about that since you are up early let's go to the training fields and see?" Kevin said.
