Chapter 54

Kevin looked at the woman and said, "Mike and I need to talk but I think for now we will manage. John failed to tell Mia many things. I suppose we will need to tell her that now. All through my team does have a mission in my brother's kingdom. I might just bring the rangers with me. I think their help will be valuable in the mission after all Mia is a ranger now," Kevin said.

"I will report to your brother all that you have told me. We look forward to hearing from you again," the woman said. "Yes, I just hope when we do meat my brother, non of this trouble follows us," Kevin said.

"Uncle you do know I will need a passport to go on abord missions," Mia reminding Kevin. "I know, that's why we will get it on our way back to clover. Something tells me, your father had the right idea to keep the family on the move," Kevin said.

"What about the storm?" Mia asked. "Now you worry about the storm?" Kevin asked. "It's not like I was helpful during the last storm," Mia said. "The basement flooded and your power prevented the base from overflooding and you call that not being useful," Kevin asked. "I call that dry the basement if you want a dry place to sleep?" Mia replied.

Kevin laughed and said, "you know we would never ask you to sleep in a basement filled with water?" Kevin said.

"Yes but still I kinda liked the basement," Mia said. "Why would she like the basement more than the top floors?" the lady asked. "She has Johns hearing and Zara's vision. The base alarms can hurt her hearing. Mike said a doctor has already looked at her hearing and the last time they said she could lose her hearing if we're not careful," Kevin said.

"Too bad Clara didn't hear the doctor. Her organization kept making the alarm louder. She said that they are not going to adapt to me. I have to learn to adapt to others," Mia said.

"That wasn't nice, why were you with her organization?" the lady asked. "Mike thought it would be best for her if she was with them. The only thing he didn't count on was them locking her up away from people," Kevin said.

"That would explain why she travels alone most of the time?" the lady said. "Yes, well I like it more outside the base than inside the base," Mia said. "Does the base alarms bother you a lot?" the lady said. "No, I have gotten used to it by now. Plus the dogs don't like the alarm either so we are not close to the alarm right now. But it's not exactly a secret that not everyone on the base like me. Some of them are rude. I hope it's different now that I have a job," Mia said.

"Why is having a job going to make any difference?" the lady asked. "Well not everyone on the base believes my parents were kidnapped. Some of them believe I was so spoiled by them that they were forced to leave me. So that I can learn what working means," Mia said.

"Mike even fired one of the base cooks becasue of the accusations. Of course, then she tracked Mia down and well, damaged the truck," Kevin said. The lady's eyes grew wide and asked, "this isn't the clover I remember when we took you to Mike's father?"

Kevin looked around and said, "the death of Mike's father hurt some of the members. No one took it well," Kevin said.

"That's understandable, well I will wait for word from you but do let us know when your mission is with our kingdom. Your brother would like to meet Mia," the lady said.

She got in the black car and Kevin watched it drove off. "What was that all about?" Mai asked.

"A ghost from our past that we would have prefered to bury," Kevin said.

"I didn't know you and my father were prince's?" Mia said. "That's becasue we are not princes. All though we are family to the royals in the kingdom. We do not carry any title. It's a story I am definitely not going to tell you right now," Kevin said.

Mia got in the truck and Kevin drove to the shop that is busy with repairs on Mia's truck. "How far are you with her truck?" Kevin asked. "Well we should be done in the morning?" the man told Kevin.

Back at the hotel Mia took Bella for a walk and sat on a few rocks. She took out her sketch bad and started to draw a picture. Mia didn't notice it was getting dark until Bella started asking for food. Mai looked around and realised she needed to hurry back. She and Bella took off on a light jog until Bella stopped and refused to take another step.

Mia realised there was a hunter in her way. "Wow, how kind of you to walk to us, it spares us the time to come and get you, my dear," the man said.

"I know your kind, and you should know I beat your ass the last time I saw you. What makes you think this time will be different," Mia said.

"Becasue we came prepared," the man said.

"We?" Mia asked but as she looked around she realises they had already surrounded her. "Bella down girl?" Mia told the dog. Bella played down on the ground but anyone that stood close by could hear Bella warning the men to stay away.

Mia summoned a strong wind, it didn't take the men long before they realised they were freezing. "You're not going to make it easy are you?" the man asked.

Mia raised her hand and fire formed in her hand. The man's eyes grew wide and said, "a fire in this part of town will destroy everything. You can not burn down this forest," the hunter said.

"Then do me a favour and get out of my way," Mia said. The hunters looked at one another and said, "why don't you come quietly with us?" the hunter said again. Mia focused and the fire turned into lightning that danced in her hand. A hunter came running at Mia. She looked at Bella and said, "go get help." Bella took off running back to the hotel. Mia looked at the hunter and focused on the air around her. Creating an ice-cold mist. Her lightning was running through the mist and with the wind, the sound of thunder could be heard miles away.

Mia moved her feet dancing around the hunters. One of the hunters broke through her defences and Mia stood waiting for him. She lowered her body and raised the earth in front of the hunter. The truth was, the hunter ran into a wall, dizzy he asked, "where did that wall come from?"

Mia looked at the other hunter and started to enjoy them coming at her one after the other. This was a workout she did with her father on several occasions. The smoke formed in the air and Mia realises the forest was now burning but to Mia surprise, Kevin and several others had arrived. The hunters were now running away and leaving Mia behind.

Looking around Mia focused on creating rain clouds. With the sound of thunder and lightning in the sky. The rain fell to the ground very hard. When the rain stopped the forest fire was contained and the damage was only on a small scale.

Kevin looked impressed and said, "so you can control the storm after all?"

Mia smiled and said, "dad felt he needed to make sure I can control my power no matter how difficult it gets but how do I use my power savely without hurting Bella," Mia asked.

"More training, but we will sort that out in time. What were you doing out here alone at night?" Leo asked. "I came here after our talk with the lady. Bella needed some exercise. I started to draw and didn't see the sun was setting. When I noticed the hunters were waiting for me," Mia said.

"You need to pay attention to your surroundings. What do you think they would have done if they caught you. You're lucky your strong and my brother made sure you can use your power in self-defence but if you have to use your power it's an absolute last resort," Kevin said.

"I know, if dad was here he would have yelled at me and told me that no matter how busy I am drawing. I need to know what is happening around me," Mia said.

"Well we will work on that, I am just lucky I finally got to see you use your power," Kevin said.

"So what did you think?" Mia asked. "I think my brother did a good job in raising you but now it's my turn to make sure you complete your training," Kevin said.
