Chapter 56

Mia was paying attention to the road ahead of her. Every mile of black road Mia couldn't help but watch the white lines passing her truck. She realised her uncle was signalling that he was turning into a gass station that was coming up. She followed and stopped at a gas pump to fill up her tank. Her uncle walked to her and asked, "you wern't answering the radio. Is something wrong?" he asked.

"No sorry, i geuss i was paying the road to much attention," Mia replied. "You didn't hear the radio?" her uncle asked in disbelieve. Mia took the radio out of the truck and handed it to her uncle who tested it. He discovered the radio was never switched on to begin with. "A there now you should be abel to hear us just fine," her uncle siad.

Mia paid for the fuel and stopped infront of the convienient stoor. She went in to by something to eat for the road ahead. When she got back to truck Mia moved the truck to a patch of grass not far from the convienien't store. Bella couldn't wait to run on the grass. Mia made sure to use a exstra long lead. It was usefull when ever Bella wanted to run around.

As everyone finished filling up there gas tanks and buying what they needed at the store. They all gathered at the patch of grass. Kevin looked at everyone and noticed Mia's attention wasn't yet again not with the group. "Mia what's wrong?" Kevin asked.

Mia looked up at Kevin and realised everyone was now looking at her. "Sorry uncle, I just can't help but be bothered at my fathers shocked exspresion. I dont know if it was me driving or the truck. Maybe i should sell the truck and buy another one?" Mia siad.

Kevin took a deep breath and siad, "as far as i know that truck is privately owned by your father. If it wasn't they wouldn't have let you take it to begin with," Kevin siad. "I hope you are right," Mia siad but on the inside she couldn't help but feel that something about this whole thing feels wrong. Kevin noticed and knowing his brother he realised Mia might be right. "Look when we get back i will contact a few friends of your fahters and hear if anyone of them knows where he got the truck from, it mgiht be nothing but i will check in with them," Kevin replied.

The sun was already assleep by the time Kevin pulled up to a old building. There was already people but somehow Mia didn't care. She was tierd and exshausted. Mia took care of Bella's need and went to bed. Mia dreamed that night of the starts and the songs her mother used to sing to her. A knock on her bedroom door woke her up early the next morning.

She opened the door and found an angry man standing infront of her bedroom door. "Can I help you sir?" Mia asked. "Yes what is that blue truck doing here?" he demanded. Mia looked at her phone to see its five in the morning.

Taking a deep breath Mia replied, "my parents are missing and i couldn't keep up with the storage cost of the unit my dad rented. It was either i take the gear or they sell it," Mia said. The mans exspresion soften and he asked, "your John and Zara's daugter?" Mia smiled sadly and siad, "yes, that truck is all i have left of them. The stuff in that locker is the one thing that they can not take from me," Mia said.

Bella woke up and left the bedroom. Mia grabed Bella's lead and rushed after Bella but to her surprise Bella was like a small puppy around one of the man's friends. "Your her owner?" the woman asked. "Yes, she was gift from a friend. I was alone for a long time and he didn't want me to be alone. We became rangers just a few days ago. Leo's team will be mentoring us for a while," Mia siad.

"Your the one my brohter is going to train?" the woman asked. "Yes and she is the owner of the blue truck. Its all she have left of her parents," the man siad. "I am so sorry to hear about John and Zara. They are deeply missed among the team," the woman siad.

"What did your fahter say about the truck?" the man asked. "Nothing, but i did notice he was shocked to see i was using it?" Mia siad. "You saw your father?" the man asked.

"Yes but it was briefly, they drove passed us a few days ago. But as i am now its not a good idea to free them," Mai said. "The group that took them is very dangerous Mia. Promise me you wont go after them?" the man asked. "Don't worry i dont thing dad wants me to go after him," Mai replied.

"Why do you say that?" the woman asked. "I can't realy use my powers in small amounts. When i use them everyone notice's," Mia siad. The woman rasied her eyebrown and siad, "its usefull but not against them. They have weapons that can harm you," the woman siad.

"So what brings you here?" Mia asked. "That truck, is very special. When it left the warehouse it gave a alarm," the man siad. "I didn't know the truck wasn't really my dad's. I only took it becasue the papers said it was his and they were going to sell it. This truck was the one thing that dad really cared about," Mia said.

"I see, but what are we going to do now. She clearly will need to be regestered and trained. If she doesn't want to let the truck go?" a woman siad. "I am a ranger and a dog handler. Kevin is thinking of taking me with him to there next mission," Mia siad. "Your going to take the truck with you aren't you?" the man asked.

"If i leave it here, it will get damege again?" Mia repleid. "What damage?" the man asked. "Molly didn't like the idea of me not having a career of being a memeber of Clover so she damaged the truck on two ocasions. We just ended up fixing it," Mai replied.

"Open the hood, i need to check somehting," the man siad. Mia went to get the truck keys and the opened the trucks hood. The man took a close looke at the engen and said, "doens't look like anyone was in here but if the truck gets damage again. Phone me, Mia," the man siad.

"Well i think you just saved my uncle a lot of phonecalls?" Mia replied. "What do you mean?" the man asked. "We wanted to know what the story with the truck was. Now that your here i know one thing. Its special and if i want to keep it i need to be regesterd," Mia replied.

"Yes, well are you heading back to clover now?" the man asked. "Yes, Leo got permission to mentor me there. I will be working with them for a while and he will be preparing my team. If there even still is a team," Mia replied.

"What do you mean?" the man asked. "Lets just say i gave a few of my fathers bad habits. When things get to unpleasant we leave," Mia replied. The man laughted and said, "so your learned that skill already?" the man asked.

"I think she will be all right, if my brother is training her at Clover we can help her regester and let her keep the truck. It will need a few upgrades though. Some of this gear is really out dated," the woman siad.

"I thought that was the latest equipment?" Mia siad. Bella suddenly stated to growl and Mia paid attention to her surroundings. There down the road came an all to familiar truck. Taking a deep breath Mai put Bellas lead on and said, "its okay girl lets just see what he wants," Mia repleid.

The truck stopped and Zack got out of the turck and walked over to Mia. "What are you doing here?" Mia asked discusted at the sight of her uncle. "I heard you joined the rangers?" he asked. "Its not like i can sit in my room all day long. Many already see me as a spoiled brat you know," Mia repleid.

"How can they say that about my favorite niece?" Zack said. "I dont know but you sure have a lot of influece on Clover even if you dont live there any more?" Mia repled.

"Well pretty soon you will get to see me every day. That way i can make sure you dont leave the base again. I already told Mary Anne your quieting the rangers," Zack said.

"You can not do that, i am an adult and i can do what i want. Even if you think i am a danger to every one. Lock me up and you will se just how much of a danger i really can be to those around me. I do not do good staying with four walls surounding me," Mia replied. "Get use to it my dear, becasue this was the last time you saw freedom in you life," Zack said.

Mia lost her temper and thunder clouds gathers over them. Lighning formed in Mia's hand but she stopped when Kevin came rushing out of the hotel.

"Zack what are you doing here?" Kevin shouted. "I came to do the job you failed to do. Tell me why did you let this idiot join the rangers?" Zack demanded. "Because she can not stay on clover without a job and she has proved that she can be trusted," Kevin shouted.
