Chapter 57

The two brothers started fighting and Mia was about to join when a gentle hand on her shoulder told her to turn around. "Get the truck keys and your gear, we are heading out before things get dangerous," the lady said. Mia rushed into the hotel and grabbed what she needed. Leo stood in the hallway with his sister and looked at Mia.

"Go with her, we will catch up after we spoke to Mary Anne and sorted out this mess. Go and register the truck, it's important to you and your family. I won't stand in your way," Leo said. Mia managed to load the truck and Bella sat on the back seat as the lady sat next to her in the truck. My name is Rose and I will be riding with you if that's okay?" Rose asked.

Mia started the truck and followed the rest of the trucks out of the parking lot of the hotel. Zack tried to stop Mia but she was long gone. "Where did you send her?" he asked Leo. "You need to learn she is an adult and no matter how dangerous you think she is. She needs to live her life. She is under our protection now and there's nothing you can do about it," Leo said.

"I will not stop until she is locked up, John and Zara never should have had her," Zack said. "What do you mean?" Kevin asked. "She is the one that will destroy us all," Zack said.

"You can not prove that," Kevin said. "And what if I can?" Zack asked.

Mia followed the lead truck as it passed a truck that was driving on the road. "So why where you here of all places?" Rose asked. "My family used to live here at some point. I am good at remembering things," Mia said. "Nice so you just wanted to visit your old home then?" Rose asked.

"Yes, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my life. So I thought visiting my old home might give me some inspiration," Mia replied.

"Nice, so you stayed at home most of the time?" Rose asked. "Yes, dad didn't want me to leave the home. He had his reasons, looking at uncle Zack I can somehow understand those reasons," Mia said.

"So you did finish school?" Rose asked. "Yes, somehow I did finish but I was homeschooled. Some say my parents spoiled me too much," Mia said.

"So they say but that's until they live in your shoes," Rose said. "Your parents kept you out of the public as well?" Mia asked. "Yes, my brother and I was a handful though and we were rebels when were teens. There was even a time our parents couldn't leave us alone," Rose joked.

Mia laughed and said, "I was nothing like that unless it comes to training and my dad pushed me too much. Then I started to complain a lot," Mia replied. "Who doesn't complain when they have to do a lot of training," Rose said.

The lead truck turned off the main road and travelled down a dirt road. Mia was confident in her skills to drive but Bella moved and Mia slowed down to check on Bella. "What's wrong?" Rose asked. "I think we need to stop somewhere," Mia said.

"Hey, why are you two slowing down back there," came a question over the radio. "Bella needs to take a potty break, she just got Mia's attention," Rose replied. "Okay there is a place to stop upfront, keep up," the voice said.

Mia parked next to the lead truck and Bella got up excited. "Someone knows she's about to feel the ground below her feet," Rose joked. Mia let Bella out of the truck and got the rest of Bella's stuff out. She was filling up a water bowl and a bowl with some food for Bella. When Rose came to her, "is it wise to let Bella walk around like that?"

Mia looked at Rose and called Bella back to the truck. Bella came running over and Mia gave her food and water to eat. "No, but I know she will not go very far," Mia replied. "Looking at her eating though makes me hungry," Rose complained. "Yes, and I think dog food will be good for us to eat," Mia replied.

"Okay team we are almost at our destination, once we get there everyone can have something to eat," the man replied. "Come on Nate you had us driving all night long," a driver complained. Mia's eyes grew wide and she looked at Rose. "How come you didn't rest at the hotel?" Mia asked.

"We had a mission Mia, and once we get a mission it's a rush to complete it," Rose said. "That's too bad, what was your mission about?" Mia asked. "We had to find out why your fathers truck was moving around so much?" Rose asked.

Mia looked around them and said, "dad never told me the story of the truck but I do know they were about to sell it. I couldn't since I already lost all of my moms equipment and she had gear that I could use with Bella but right now that means I need to buy everything all over again," Mai said.

"I am sorry to hear that," Rose said. "Yes well, it's part of life," Mia said. She walked over to a tree that looked very dry. Mia raised her hand and focused on water forming in her hand. She lowered her body to the roots of the tree and let the water flow onto the tree.

"Wow, you can use the water element?" Rose asked. "I can use fire, earth, lightning, wind and water but that's not all I can also use create, I have sight and hearing," Mia replied.

"Wow, so you're close to a mega then," one joked. "I am a mega," Mia replied. Everyone looked at Mia and Rose asked, "what is your mega element?"

Mia looked around them and said, "Storm and lightning but dad suspected I was a mega in all the elements but the test I took told him I wasn't," Mia replied.

"So you created the snowstorm a few years ago," Rose asked. "Yes, I couldn't hander everything anymore so I just let go," Mia replied. "How about now?" Nate asked. "I found I am in control these days, all though when it's just the two off us I find it easier to train than with others. Whenever I got a chance I trained," Mia replied.

"What do you mean when you are alone?" Nate asked. "I mean I haven't really trained with everyone around. The training I did isn't what dad would call training?" Mia replied.

"He really pushed you?" Rose asked. "Yes, it's something he and my mom never really agreed on. Dad believed he needed to train me to handle every situation but mom didn't always agree," Mia replied.

"So he did train you our way?" Nate replied. "He trained me to use my power in every situation other than two that I know off," Mia replied. "What is that?" Nate asked.

"Indoors and the artic," Mia replied. "Why did he want to train you in the artic?" Nate asked. "He wanted to know how my storm element would react to the snowstorm," Mia replied.

"Some storm users have trouble controlling an arctic storm," Rose replied. "That would make sense," Nate said. Back in the truck Mia opened a plastic bag and gave Rose a packet of chips. "I don't have much but maybe this will help," Mia replied.

Rose got really excited and took the bag of chips. "Where did you get that?" Nate asked. Mia looked guilty at Nate and said, "I had a few bags with me." Nate didn't look impressed but calmed down when Mia offered everyone the bag filled with snacks.

"Thank you, Mia, I do need to ask you. What did your dad tell you about his job?" Nate asked as he opened a bag of chips. Mia took a deep breath and said, "both my parents were really secretive about their jobs. The truth is they don't know what their jobs were. If I knew maybe I would've made better decisions," Mia replied.

"What do you mean?" Nate asked. "When my parents disappeared the only thing my mother told me to do was to phone my uncle. In case they never came back. The truth is they never came back so yea three uncles and one of them wants to lock me up. Let's just say I have a few questions for them when I see them again," Mia replied.

Nate had a smile on his face and said, "I would say you not wrong there with the questions and all." Everyone got in their trucks and kept driving. Mia looked at the forest and couldn't help but somehow felt that she was finally safe. Mia smiled and Rose asked her. "What are you smiling about?" Mia looked at her and said, "because I think everything will be okay in the end," Mia replied but hours later Mia sat on a chair and watched an old man yelling at Nate.

She looked at Rose and said, "I think I might have been wrong."
