Chapter 6. The Alchemic Way

Zhao Long had returned to his room from the emperors residence.After he went inside his room he closed the door spread one thousand yuan crystals around him like he did previously and started to cultivate.

Just as he was starting to cultivate someone knocked at his door. He stood up walked towards the door and opened the door.Outside the door he saw a palace servant. When the palace servant saw Zhao Long he bowed to him and took out a space ring out of his pocket"Young master his majesty has sent this Space Ring Containing Ten Thousand Qi Grade low ranking, Mid ranking, High Ranking,Five thousand Innate Grade low ranking herbs,some Alchemic books and a Soul Grade mid rank Alchemic furnace for you"He said as he handed the space ring to Zhao Long and Left.

After the servant left Zhao Long looked inside the space ring and after some time with a smiling face he put the space ring inside the space ring he was wearing in his finger and Continued cultivating.

Zhao Long again started to cultivate. From time to time he would stuff pills inside in his mouth and start to refine them. This process continued for several hours until a cracking sound came from Zhao Long's body.

Kachh..... Kachh..... the cracking sound continued then a burst of golden light came out of Zhao Long's body. After the light disappeared Zhao Long opened his eyes and said "I have brokenthrough!"

Zhao Long had brokenthrough again in just a few hours of time. Now he was in the fifth layer of the Innate Energy Realm!Zhao Long took some time to examin his body and started to stabalize his cultivation.

After a few hours he finished stabalizing his cultivation. He then took out the space ring the servant had given him and took out the Alchemic Books from there.

These two books were for Alchemists from the Qi Grade and Innate Grade. Zhao Long then first Started to read the Book for the Qi Grade Alchemist.

Alchemy was a very difficult part of the dao. Alchemic Dao was very hard to follow. One had to either have a natural aptitude for Alchemy or had to put their whole life perceiving the Alchemic way.

Due to the Dao Of Alchemy being very difficult there were very few Alchemists throughout the Azure Dragon Continent. Alchemists were respected throughout the world no matter what country they belonged to or what their personal background was.

This was one of the reasons why Zhao Long wanted to become an Alchemists as he wanted to have his own identity aside from being the crown Prince of The Great Zhao Empire.

The other reason was that Alchemic Pills were expensive.He may be able to buy pills using the Empires resources but he could not guarantee that he could do the same when he was outside the Empire. Even if he had carried alot of money with him it would eventually run out and finding a good Alchemist was also not an easy task.

If He was an Alchemist himself he could avoid loosing money as well as the time needed to search for an Alchemist as he could refine the Pills himself.

One day had passed Zhao Long had finished reading the first book. He put the first book aside and Started to read the second book.

After two days Zhao Long had finished reading both the books and now had a basic grasp on the Alchemic Dao.

In order for an Alchemist to refine a pill he/she had to push their Qi inside the Alchemic furnace to heat the Furnace. After the Furnace was heated they had to put the herbs inside the Furnace and control the temperature inside the Furnace so that the herbs won't loose their medicinal properties or burn.

Zhao Long was now confident that he could atleast refine a Qi Grade Mid rank pill but just being confident did not mean that he would really succeed in refining the pill.

Zhao Long Took The Soul Grade Low Rank Alchemic furnace and circulated his qi inside it. After the Furnace reached a certain temperature he put a Purple coloured grass inside the Furnace it was the Purple heart spirit grass a Qi Grade low rank herb, After some time he put a berry like herb inside the Furnace and many other Qi Grade low rank herbs.

After putting all the herbs inside the Furnace he closed the lid of the Furnace and started to raise the temperature of the Furnace even more. He would raise the temperature of the Furnace and then decrease it when he though that it was too much.

He continued doing this for a some time. After a few minutes he stopped circulating his Qi and opened the lid. As he opened the lid a strong and pleasant medicinal fragrance came out of the Furnace and spread throughout the room.

The pill refinement was a success! Inside the Furnace there were two pills the size of a quail egg. The Pills were Purple in color. These pills were Qi Grade low rank Pills which could be used for the detoxification of Poison. Zhao Long looked at the pills and took out a jade bottle and put the Pills inside the bottle happily.

Now that Zhao Long had refined these two pills this ment that he was now an Alchemist although it was of the lowest rank. But he was still an Alchemist.

Zhao Long the continued to refine more Qi Grade Low rank pills.After one day had passed Zhao Long had One Hundred Jade bottles at his side each of these bottles contained Ten Qi Grade Low rank Pills. All these pills were refined by Zhao Long. This ment that he had Refined one thousand Qi Grade Low rank pills in a single day.

Their were healing pills, Pills used to detoxify poison, Pills to strengthen the soul, Pills used to restore Qi and pills used to cultivate.

Inside the Furnace there were Ten More pills. These Pills Gave of much stronger medicinal fragrance. These pills were Qi Grade Mid rank healing pills!

In one day Zhao Long had been promoted from a novice to a Qi Grade Mid Rank Alchemist. If the Other Alchemists found out about this they would go insane!

Zhao Long took the Pills out of the Alchemic Furnace and put them inside a jade bottle and stored them inside his space ring along with the hundred other jade bottles and the Furnace itself. After storing everything inside his space ring he stood up and layed in his bed to rest refining all these pills had drained nearly all of his Qi.
