Building the Basics (Part 2)

Roran walked back to his manor. The day was successful. Then one of the blacksmiths that lived at the edge of the ruins came to Roran.

"My lord, so I was thinking about monsters, and I realized that there isn't any defense force nor law enforcement. We are very susceptible to attacks."

"True. We have to start working on that soon. I'll make an announcement tomorrow."

"Wait what?!"

[Established connection with Blacksmith Higeroth, Divine Craftsman]

"He's a Divine Craftsman? Why didn't you tell me?"

[Rifter didn't request any additional information]

"Fine..."

Roran trudged to his room and laid down, worn-out and tired from his day's activities.

The next morning Roran woke up an saw an argument in the town center. They were arguing about whether to trade a sheep with a dog. Roran sighed. He really could see how law enforcement could come in handy.

He called one of his assistants, and told him to call 4 of the strongest warriors in the town. He immediately ran away to call the men. Roran then walked to the dining table that he always used. He just summoned the system. "Use one point to buy an English breakfast"

[Sure]

The food appeared straight onto Roran's table. It was all perfect. Roran ate it and checked his status.

The assistant then came back, shooing 4 burly men through the doors. There was Tibernus, Nisgris, Westam, and Visigoth. They all stood there. Then Roran said, "You will become our first armed force. Follow me and we will get you each a Leopard to ride on. You will now be the Maelstrom Four."

The burly men cheered and then walked with Roran to the Monster Taming House. They each got distributed a leopard, and Roran will pay them 5 silvers each month, and also a bronze extra every problem solved. Roran then told them to make a patrol plan. The patrol has to consist of at least 2 men and also regularly. Any monsters have to be dealt with and the carcass brought back for Roran to sell in Urudoth. Each Bronze carcass can get up to 2 silvers while each Iron 7 silvers. This makes up around a third of Roran's income. The rest comes from taxes. Each working resident has to pay only 20 bronze a month, which is an acceptable amount. Roran has a treasury that he keeps all his wealth in, something around 15 silvers. Roran was content, for now.
