Beast Wave!

The assistant busted into Roran's house. The captain of the guards also came in. "Milord, there is a humongous beast wave coming from the bottom of the mountain! It seems like the mayor from Urudoth has decided to chase the beasts from the Hiruvial Forest up the mountain! They are coming straight for here!"

"Uh... Do I really have to do this? Assemble all the fighting force we can muster."

"Milord, that's about 20 people."

"Station them where the beasts are coming. The Maelstrom Four have to be at the front, 5 of the better ones will follow them, each 2 meters apart, while the 10 that remain will be divided into half, and stationed on the sides. When I blow the horn, they will close in and start fighting."

"Okay, now go. Put a chair on a building where the monsters are coming and give me a horn. Oh, and also stop the construction there."

The assistant hurried away. Roran ambled to the most southern part of the town, where there was a small wall still under construction. The assistant saw Roran and gave him a brown horn. This one seemed to be carved out of the horn of an Elephant Bull. Roran then blew the horn and yelled, "Stop the construction! A beast wave is coming. Go back to your homes. I will still pay you the same!"

The men, after hearing the last sentence, ambled back to their homes. Meanwhile, the warriors have arrived. Roran retrieved 16 sets of armor he just bought from the system, diminishing his wealth by 160 points. Then he took out 16 swords, using up a further 160 points. Now he just had 9 left. He was back to being a penniless pauper. The warriors equipped themselves and then waited for the beast wave to come.

After around 30 minutes, deafening roars were heard. the men tensed, waiting for their moment to strike. Then the monsters appeared on the horizon. There were maybe a hundred, and only of the weakest beasts inside the Hiruvial Forest. Even then they were of minimum Iron rank. The Maelstrom Four charged forwards, the 5 men behind them also. Roran unsheathed his sword and charged into battle. The battle was brutal, the beasts attempting to swiftly eliminate the humans and run further up the mountain. Roran's ears rang with the sound of system notifications.

It was when Roran killed his fifth beast that he sounded the horn. The ten men on the sides roared unyieldingly and cut inside the monster ranks. After an hour or so, the battle finally ended. Almost all of the beasts were dead, while the others escaped. The Maelstrom Four have all been severely injured, together with 6 of the rest. Roran had only been scraped by a claw once.

Roran checked the amount of points he has. The monsters his subordinates killed also give him points.

System points: 749

This was more than double the amount that Roran saved for the past month or so! Roran laughed, scaring the men nearby into thinking that he went hysterical. The Roran calmed down slightly and traded 40 points into 40 silvers from the system shop, and gave each man 2 silvers. Then he also collected all of the carcasses into his inventory.
