World Ending Drivers

Earth was once a quiet planet than in unknown occurrence creatures called Pawns were written in the history books as the 'Second biggest enemy behind Humanity itself' And with this, an outbreak occurred in the victorian era of which brought fear to those who thought the world would end but to their surprise, it was actually the birth of those who will protect it. So called Drivers, these people are who had this sickness of them called the 'Valkyric Syndrome' A sickness of which brought power to those who had it a power that can destroy Pawns and with weapons that brought forth from these sicknesses. And so with it, these Drivers are now in charged to protect the Earth from these creatures and the eyes of the public are switching eyes to that. Are they peacekeepers or are they another risk to humanity?
