Chapter 45: Astral travel

Zoe thought it was important that we work where we wouldn’t be disturbed, so I followed her back downstairs and into a large room lined with bookshelves. I sank down into the armchair she indicated.

“I have the crystals.” She reached under the table and pulled out a box. “I don’t know how much help they’ll be, but it won’t hurt to have them here.” She arranged the boxy lime-green rocks on one side of the mahogany table and then added a few glossy jet-black orbs between them.

“Rhodizite and black tourmaline? Interesting.”

“From what I’ve read, they’re the most effective.”

The door opened and Cathryn joined us, shutting it behind her with a soft click.

“Are we ready, ladies?”

“Just about.” Zoe looked at the crystal arrangement with narrowed eyes and then moved one of the rhodizites half an inch to the left. “Pull up that chair, please, Cathryn. We need to be close enough to reach Nell.”
