Chapter 7

Nicholas POV:

"What the fuck did you do Nicholas?" My father's voice boomed through the house.

"Uh, what do you mean?" I asked.

"Why is our treaty not renewed?" He asked angrily.

"Why don't you ask Alec. He is the one who denied the request." I spoke and was not about to tell him the real reason why.

"Fine, I will!" He stormed off.

I knew he is angry, but he would kill me if he knew the real reason why our treaty with Redmoon was rejected. I rejected my mate because I knew I was not ready for a mate. I did not want one.

I wanted to rule myself, I did not want an opinion of another Alpha or Luna to tell me what I should or should not do in my pack. I was a feared ruler like my father. I know what needs to be done and how to do it without someone nagging at me.

Sofia POV:

I found my father sitting in his office with a stern look on his face. I knocked on the door. "Hey, pa." As I walked into his office.

"Hey, sweetie. Do you need something?" He asked.

"Just checking on you." I smiled softly.

"I am fine sweetie. I have to talk to some of our allies and your mom about our next move. Or even bring in Kai for a meeting." He looked up from his notebook.

"I can bring in mom if you need me to," I said and walked towards the door.

"We will talk about this tomorrow, I have already made a few contacts and they shall be here in a few days. I want you in on this meetingss" His face softens.

"Alright, dad. I will be here." I smiled and walked out. I walked up to my room and made my way into my room. I softly sighed and grabbed some PJ'S to go hop into the shower.

I turned on the shower and stripped out of the clothes I have worn out into the woods. I can still recall Kai's message. Does he mean it? I had this sudden gut feeling that we will be facing a war soon.

Kai probably does not even know what happened in the meeting with Nicholas here. Just what Nicholas tells him.

I got out of the shower and headed for my bed I turned my alarm on so I can be up in the morning for these meetings. It's about 10 pm and I shut off my light and laid in bed. It felt like it took hours to fall asleep, but all I recall is the recurring same dream I keep having.

I was running in the woods as Eva raced freely to aid the wounded. There's bloodshed all around me. My pack, my mate's pack, our allied pack, and the enemy's pack.

The screams were louder this time around, I couldn't figure out where to head to first. I found my dad. He is wounded but alive...

I woke up screaming and sweating. "It's just a dream Sofia," I whispered to myself. "Just a dream. "

Little did I know this was just the beginning of these nightmares.
