Chapter 29 Oreo

Ricky looked at everyone wondering why everyone stood still in their tracks.

"Ricky that's not a combat beast, it's used for hunting small mutated rats and bunnies, why would you need that, it ain't useful for you", said Jacob looking at Ricky, troubled at what he had asked for.

Everyone argued with Ricky to change the beast he wanted to tame because the phoenix was a simple bird beast, they were a group of mutated eagles and were weak.

"Ricky, are you sure about picking a phoenix as a first beast? they are grown nowadays only for showing off its beauty," said Ben, worried about Ricky's decision.

"Yes, I am", said Ricky stubbornly. As they couldn't say anything to change his decision, they left for the fire habitat.

Ben suddenly felt a tingle in his eye as they crossed the central habitat. He looked around but couldn't find any beasts or persons around him.

(Bionic eye activated)

Ben checked the surroundings again, he couldn't find anything. He lost track of his group, so he decided to stay there and join them once they leave for the water habitat. Even though Ben wanted to go and help Ricky find the best beast, he couldn't as he wanted to know more about the tingling feeling in his eyes

Ben cautiously watched his surroundings as he couldn't figure out what he was feeling in his eyes, he turned off the bionic eye and waited for some time suddenly he heard a growling sound of a beast and it came from the central habitat.

Ben notified the teacher, that he was going to wait outside the central habitat.

Ben stood there for some time. Ben's eyes started tingling again.

"I think the weird tingling has something to do with the central habitat". Ben looked around to see if any instructor was around so he could enter the central habitat with them, but no one was around, so he decided to take a risk and move alone into the central habitat.

It was filled with cages and with dense trees. Ben slowly looked around everywhere, the habitat mostly had only empty cages and in some cages there were animals, but they looked like they were in some kind of medication and were sleeping inside.

Ben again heard some noises coming from the middle of the habitat, so he went towards the middle of the habitat.

A group of hungry heist hyena cubs was trying to take a piece of meat from a ragged black and white dog-like cub. Ben couldn't identify the species of that cub. The dog-like cub didn't have hair on most of its body, its eyes looked sunken and it was very frail as if it may fall anytime and it also had a lot of scars on its body and yet it didn't give up on the piece of meat and was trying to take it from the three. The eyes of the cub were burning with the desire for survival.

Ben looked at the cub and felt sorry for it, he didn't know what to do, so he took a stone in his hand and threw it at the heist hyena cubs, it fell on one of the hyenas and it let go of the piece of meat. The dog-like cub used this opportunity to pull the meat with all its might and it succeeded in getting it. The three hyenas started to go near the cub, gnashing their teeth. These hyenas looked cute as they were very small and looked a lot like the Dachshund species of normal dogs. Ben knew both of the group was hungry, so he took out another piece of meat he had in his bag for the beast he tames, and sliced it into three using a Swiss knife and threw it at the three hyena cubs and they let go of the meat the dog-like cub had.

The dog-like cub immediately started running taking the meat piece in its mouth. It ran towards the water hole, cleaned the meat piece in the water, and started to eat it.

Ben was watching this from behind and felt shocked by its habit as none of the beasts he had known about, cleans the food it eats, he immediately activated his bionic eye.

(Bionic eye activated)

A huge golden color aura surrounded his eyes and it was coming from the small black and white cub. The energy inside it was majestic and mesmerizing and was flowing out in harmony surrounding everything in the golden aura. Ben stared at it for some time and understood that the beast was different from ordinary beasts.

Ben slowly went near the beast and brought his hand near the beast, the beast didn't do anything and gracefully accepted his hands.

He petted it for some time. He felt strangely affectionate to the small beast and he decided to tame it. He used his knife to create a small gash on his palm and let some of his blood fall on the beast.

Ben looked at the beast with his bionic eye to see what happens when he tames a beast.

His blood which fell on the beast started integrating with the golden aura inside the beast and a small link between the two of them got established as a small amount of golden aura entered Ben.

The beast went near the waterhole and drank some water and cleaned its mouth using some water. Then it came near Ben and started licking him.

"Such a clean beast, I wonder how it got these wounds?"

Ben looked at the beast and felt like he had tamed the perfect beast. He showed his satisfaction by petting the cub.

The beast was fully covered in black hair with patches of hair which were missing on some areas and also had a lot of scars on its body, its legs, and its nose was covered in white hair, it also had a triangle-like white patch on its neck. It gave off a majestic feel whenever he observed it for a longer time.

Ben stood there thinking for some time and named the beast Oreo as it looked like the biscuit. Ben opened his system and asked, "Can I let Oreo stay inside the system storage"

"Yes you can, first open the storage and split it into two, one for materials and the other for beasts, then you can activate the portal and send the beast cub into the storage, You have tamed an interesting beast" replied the system.

As Ben was going to ask another question, he received a notification that Ricky had successfully obtained a phoenix egg and their group was near the central habitat. So Ben quickly did what the system said and returned to the entrance of the central habitat.

After some time

Ben's group arrived. Ben kept quiet about the beast he tamed. Ben joined with the group and they decided to go

"Ricky sorry I couldn't help you, I kinda got lost here"

"It ain't a problem Ben, there was only one Phoneix egg, they said they had given all the others to some fashion TV", said Ricky with a slight smile.

Ben felt relieved after hearing what Ricky said. They soon left for the water habitat to find a beast for Kelly.
