Chapter 30 Water

They entered the water habitat,

The teacher called Kelly and asked what beast she wanted to tame. Kelly was deep in thinking about what beast she should tame, so she didn't answer the teacher. The teacher asked again, Kelly still didn't answer. Jasmine came near Kelly and called her, that's when Kelly looked around to see her group staring at her, worried.

"Sorry I was a bit lost in thoughts, I don't know what beast to choose", said Kelly with a sad face.

"Oh, don't worry Kelly I will help you to choose a good beast", said Jasmine with a soothing smile.

Jasmine thought for some time and asked some advice from her teacher, all her friends looked at both of them eagerly, especially Kelly.

After some time

"Kelly, have you heard about emerald tortoises? why don't you try to tame it as one of your first beasts?", said Jasmine.

Emerald tortoises have very high intelligence and are capable of improving the combat ability of their tamer and they have high defense abilities and are capable of protecting their tamer. They also are good teachers and also help their users by providing them wisdom to improve their lives.

Everyone thought this was the best fit for Kelly. Kelly also agreed. So they went in search of the emerald tortoises.

Emerald Tortoises were rarely found as these mutated species live in both water and land and have very low reproduction rates. But teacher Jacob and Jasmine pulled some strings and made it available for Kelly.

They went to a facility inside the water habitat where the hatchlings of the tortoise were kept. A keeper invited everyone inside and led them to a space where the tortoises were kept.

A lot of species of animals that had low reproduction rates were kept in separate spaces. Everyone looked at them and marveled at the different species found in the glass-cased spaces.

"Gelatin snakes, Nest owls, Flame wolves, Dragon ape, Humming bats,...."

Ben remembered every beast name he read in the books while passing through the spaces.

"This is a special facility created for taking care of some special species, the species which are found here are extremely rare. Visitors are usually not allowed here ", said the keeper looking at all of them and keeping a suspicious face, as if they had made a mistake coming inside.

The Keeper stopped at a space and pointed towards the hatchlings of the tortoise. The mother was not found there. There were 5 hatchlings, they were slowly moving side by side, staggering as they were very small.

"The hatchlings are in the right age for taming, so please select one and get out of here"

No one liked the tone of the keeper but they couldn't say anything against him, even the teacher didn't say anything as they were inside a place where normal people weren't allowed, so they had to play by the keeper's rules.

(Bionic eye activated)

Ben activated his bionic eye to help Kelly pick a tortoise quickly so that they can get themselves out of the place fastly.

The 4 hatchlings gave out different shades of dark blue color, except for one hatchling which showed a strong aura of light blue color. Ben found the tortoise to be different it created an eerie cool feeling in his eye.

Ben went near Kelly and suggested that she tame the tortoise as he found it special than other tortoises.

Kelly did as Ben said without asking any questions.

Jacob watched the group, but he still didn't ask any questions about letting Ben select the beasts for them.

Jacob watched over the entire process and after it was finished, he slowly asked Ben the beast he wanted to tame as he was the one who didn't tame a beast yet.

Ben looked at the teacher and everyone else in his group who had turned after the teacher asked the question.

They were eager to find the beast he wanted to tame.

"Sir please don't get angry at me, but I have already tamed a beast"

Everyone looked at Ben with shock as he was with them the entire trip.

"WHEN and HOW did you tame a beast without any instructor around you", asked the teacher.

Ben explained everything he did and how he tamed a beast during the time he waited outside the central habitat, he skipped the part about using his eye.

Everyone looked at Ben, the teacher didn't know what to say against Ben, So he asked

"What beast did you tame ".

"Well, that..... I don't know ", replied Ben.

"SUMMON THE BEAST FROM YOUR PORTAL", said the instructor in a stern and angry voice which didn't fit his handsome face.

Ben did what the instructor asked.

(beast portal activated)

Oreo climbed out of the portal and looked at everyone.

Everyone stood still, staring at it silently as they also didn't know what beast it was, even the teacher didn't know about it, and the keeper who was waiting for this group to move out looked at the beast and couldn't identify it.

Everyone was also baffled by the condition the beast was in even though it was a cub. Everyone looked at Ben and gave off a feeling as if he had made a wrong choice.
