Daniel POV:
Daniel nearly had a heart attack. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. A huge furry giant 5x times the size of Daniel himself stood near the edge of my mountain. "Humans, I am guarding this place for ten heroes" the giant said, his mouth didn't move, but the words appeared in the heroes' heads.
"We are five of those heroes" Daniel said, trying to keep the nervousness away in his voice. "Proof it then" the creature said "Battle me" the giant said and he came running at the heroes. "Quick, spread" shouted Daniel. The heroes managed to jump to the side, nearly being crushed by the weight of the giant.
"What's the plan?" asked Myra. "Don't need a plan" Daniel shouted of the gust and ran straight at the giant, taking the stone out of his pocket. It instantly transformed into Sciodes. Daniel sent a wave of dark energy at the giant but the giant swatted it away with ease. Daniel formed a ball of shadowy liquid at the end of Sciodes and it was realised with a 'BOOM!' but the gaint raised his arms and held the ball and crushed it with his huge, bare hands.
The giant hit the ground hard sending a shockwave tripping Daniel over. The giant came over to the boy, but before he could do anything, ivy rose from the ground, coiling around the giant's legs, tripping him over and a huge BANG echoed the mountain as the gaint came down. Suddenly, a light came out of the ground and hit the giant, sending a wave of electricity up the giant. The giant sizzled and crackled. Myra was at the other side of the mountain, sending electricity at the giant from left a right.
The heroes thought they had defeated the giant, but the giant rose. "You thought you could defeat me that easily?" he said, "Think again" and he came towards Igor punching him hard in the stomach. Igor flew across the mountain, and slipped down the mountain. "Igor" Daniel screamed. But then he saw a hand, just grabbing on at the edge of the mountain with dear life.
Myra came to help Igor. She lifted him back up and layed him on the ground. She took out her Boomerang, Bolt and threw it at the giant, sizzling as it passed. It hit the giant, sending a shock through his body. Daniel saw Catherine take something out. Her stone. Daniel knew that Catherine didn't like using it often, but this was a desperate situation. It instantly transformed into a beautiful green bow. It was preloaded with an arrow and she shot it at the giant. Daniel noticed a wave appear right next to him. He froze in fear, trusting Alicia.
The water gushed over the giant, suffocating him for a few seconds. Daniel heard what he thought was a cough echoed the mountain. The giant roared. He was dripping wet but the heroes didn't give him time to recover. The giant went towards Daniel, who saw the other heroes in awe defeating the giant.
But the arrow hit the giant from the back, scrapping its large chest, but he plucked it out. He lost interest in Daniel. But before he could attack, another arrow came towards him, followed by another and another. Igor recovered quickly and strings of metal stared to come through his hands, flying towards the giant. The metal then bent and tied the giant's leg together preventing him from walking. Daniel kept of shooting balls of Darkness at the giant.
It screamed in pain. Daniel felt sorry for it. It was here to protect something for them, but every hero must prove themselves, and that's what they were going to do. "Ready?" asked Daniel. "YEAH" came the response from the other 4 heroes.
Catherine shot an arrow through her bow, and it was heading at the giant's chest. Daniel released a ball and it joined the arrow, it turned into a Midnight black arrow. Daniel, through the edge of his eyes, saw that Igor sent a chunk of metal at the arrow. It sank into the arrow, making it stronger. Any hit from that could kill a human. Finally, Klara formed water in her hands, but Daniel watched as steam was released from the water. It was boiling water...
It surrounded the arrow. The arrow started sizzling with electricity. Myra made movements with her hands, making the lightning more powerful. But something happened that makes the giant's chance of stopping the arrow to zero percent. A gust from Edger made the arrow fly master than humans can see. It flew with great speed and the arrow sank into the giant's body.
The giant fell. The electricity paralyzed it and the other elements helped the heroes defeat the giant. Daniel and the others cheered but their celebration came to an end when they heard groaning. The gaint sat up. The heroes immediately got into fighting position but the mountain giant had a kind smile on it's face.
"You are free to take the box and leave" the giant said. "I'm a special type of giant, I help guard the box. I am immortal. I never die. I wish you all the best on your quest.
"But what about the other heroes' box" Daniel asked, curious. "Don't worry, touch them and think of the person that the box belongs to, and they will be safely receive it..." he said. Daniel nodded and smiled.
"You have clearly shown me that you are the heroes that deserve the objects inside this shrine..." it said and it faded away.
Daniel and the others sighed of relief. The giant was ok, and they had proven themselves capable. They approached the shrine and opened the box. Inside, their was a jade. Daniel didn't know what it was for, but he knew it was significant in completing their quest. The heroes collected the jade and put it away safely. Daniel opened the other boxes, no longer protected by the barrier and touched the stones thinking of the names of the corresponding heroes.
The stone shimmered and disappeared. Daniel looked at the others and smiled. They had got so far, but they only got half way to their objective. Daniel saw the Shadow Path as clear as day. "Ready?" Daniel asked. And the others nodded...
