My Baby...

"What the... Why are you here?" asked Diamond who was utterly shook.

"Listen Diamond, I can explain everything. The business thing, the..."

"I don't care" she cut-in

"What?"

"I really really don't care"

"Why did you leave?"

"Because I didn't want people to know that I'm pregnant, people especially you but Sophie just never listens. Come in" she said as she shut the door.

He took a seat and she served him a bottle of cold water.

"Would you like something to eat?" she asked. He took a deep breath,

"You should've told me sooner" he said. He sounded very sad.

"First of all, it wasn't me who told you and again, you have a girlfriend Damian. Besides, we don't even have any special feelings for each other"

"We should still take responsibility for our actions"

"I'm taking full responsibility, you're the one who doesn't even remember anything that happened that day"

"I do"

"Huh?"

"I remember, I always did"

"You said you didn't"

"I said that because I thought you'd feel better if I didn't remember"

"Excuse me?"

"We were friends, it would've felt weird"

"Are you insane?"

"I thought it'd be best that way"

"Best for who? That was a very selfish decision you took and it clearly benefited only you. Go back home, I don't even know why you're here in the first place"

"I broke up with Jane. Its been over three months now and I'm here to take responsibility for my actions. Please, just give me a chance"

"Do whatever you want Damian, I don't really care. I have an appointment with my doctor right now, make yourself at home" she said then got up.

"Let me come with you"

"Fine"

"Well, Miss Brooklyn, the baby is very healthy and so are you. Keep eating well and doing what you're doing, you're both in great condition"

"Thank you doctor"

Noticing the doctor's fixed gaze on Damian, Diamond cleared her throat.

"Dr Grace, this is Damian, my fiance. Damian, Dr Grace"

"Ah, you finally join us. A pleasure to meet you Damian"

"A pleasure to meet you too Dr Grace"

"We'll be leaving now, thanks again" Diamond said as she got up, Damian followed.

"Fiance?" Damian asked when they got to their car.

"Should I have said 'meet Damian, my baby's dad?' you said you came to take responsibility"

"I'm not complaining, I was just surprised"

"Let's go, I'm hungry"

"Could you give me a moment? I think I saw an old friend in there"

"Don't take too long"

As she sat waiting in the car, she noticed an ice cream stand. Craving some, she got out the car and crossed over to the other side to buy some.

"I'll take two of the chocolate flavor"

With a smile, she took her order and paid the vendor.

"I hope he likes chocolate flavor" she thought as she turned around to cross back over to her car. Halfway there, she felt a sharp pain in her belly. Doing her best to keep going, she heard a loud screech and looked up immediately. The driver was trying hard to stop but it was too late.

As she dropped to the ground, she could only think, "my baby"
