Before reaching the beach, Acrilla hears a loud echo noise not too far. There’s no one in the area but them. She checks and hears the sounds of a humpback whale. The kids follow Acrilla and see a whale in distress; all wrapped up in a net that nearly covers its entire body. Acrilla swims to the whale to calm it down as she helps to get the net off of him. The whale is so stressed over the near capture that it continues to flop around, almost sending everyone flying. Tyler hangs onto the net while Calem and Emma pat the whale to relieve it of stress. After the whale seems calmer, Acrilla and the kids pull the net off. But because the whale is so huge, they have to swim in circles around the body to release it. Emma has trouble because she’s so small, so Noah gives her a hand by using his nose to hold the net since the material is also very heavy. They find other ways to calm the whale longer until it is finally free from the trap. The whale shakes its head and makes a grateful noise.
