War with Russia Part 2

Once the skies were cleared above Vladivostok, the Transport moved into position to land troops at the port where Russian defenses were already set up and waiting for the landing.

The one bustling port of Vladivostok, once a thriving city filled with sailors and merchants, now had soldiers armed to the teeth, tanks rolling with thunderous roars, and destroyed anti-aircraft gun emplacements. The Russians would not relinquish control of the city without a fight.

Despite the defenses, the Arcadian transport ships continued. And after a few minutes, the first troops poured out from the transports onto the Russian Docks.

Russian troops had already made set some defenses and immediately opened fire on the Arcadian troops who invaded their homeland.

However, with Total air control, Arcadian Gunships were free to fly around and provide support to the ground troops wherever they needed it. So, the Russian Defenses didn't last too long before being destroyed by aircraft.

Despite the gunships raining death from above, the Russian soldiers were relentless. They fought tooth and nail, using every resource available to them to defend the city.

The civilians who were not even given a warning until the Arcadian had arrived at their doorstep had run inside the nearest building that they could find. A few brave men joined up with the Russian army to help but they were no match for the superior Arcadian forces.

The Arcadian forces advanced, their boots pounding onto the docks as they moved passed bodies of Russian soldiers and destroyed vehicles. Silence had fallen upon the port as they moved deeper into the city.

The distant sounds of gunships could be heard, but the ground troops left in their wake a ghost town. Buildings crumbled, smoke billowing out from ruined structures.

The once vibrant cityscape was now nothing more than a war-ravaged battlefield.

In an ill-lit alleyway, a group of Russian guerillas prepared for a counterattack. They listened attentively to their orders, their faces devoid of fear, replaced with a resolute determination that mirrored their leader's. Their leader, a grizzled veteran named Alexei, pointed at the map sprawled across an upturned crate and planned their offensive.

As night fell across Vladivostok, an unexpected barrage of fire erupted from hidden corners and shadowy alleyways.

Every window, every rooftop became an enemy outpost as the Russians launched their desperate rebellion, showing an incredible resilience in this struggle for survival.

The Arcadian forces patrolling the streets of the city enforcing Martial law, found themselves under fire from almost every building around them.

But unlike normal Russian soldiers, Arcadian soldiers are equipped with armor to resist bullets. The General in charge of the Arcadian Ground forces had ordered a clean sweep of every building within the city to get rid of the remaining resistance.

Within the hour thousands of Arcadian troops had started going from building to building and eliminating any resistance. Those that didn't have weapons were not harmed, but those that had weapons were either killed if they resisted or arrested.

The Arcadians moved with ruthless efficiency. Their footsteps echoed through the ravaged streets, amplified by the eerie silence. The heavy clanking of their armor and the occasional rattle of gunfire dominated the city's soundscape.

Meanwhile, word of the invasion of Vladivostok had shocked the world. First the video footage of naval battle involving Russian and Arcadian ships had surfaced on the internet.

And now videos of the battle going on in Vladivostok had caused an even greater shock. Some people thought that it would take months before the Arcadian Empire was able to land on Russian soil.

However, they had just been proven wrong. Meanwhile Russian President Nikolay was locked in an emergency meeting with his top generals and advisors, the tension in the room palpable. The harsh reality of the situation weighed heavily on everyone present; Arcadia had invaded their motherland with a force that seemed unstoppable.

They had lost control of Vladivostok in less than 48 hours since the war started, and their Black Sea fleet was being held in the Mediterranean by an Arcadian Fleet.

President Nikolay slammed his fists on the meeting table in anger "Damn! How long until reinforcements arrive" Yelled Nikolay as his glanced at his top military advisor General Pavlovich.

"The closest troops we have is the 22nd Infantry Brigade deployed on the Chinese Border in central Russia, but they won't be enough to stop the Arcadian's advance, we need a combined force of all branches to stop them" Explained General Pavlovich.

"Then we must call back our troops from all fronts. Pull them from the borders, from the peacekeeping missions, from wherever they are. We must consolidate our forces and strike back," President Nikolay ordered.

The decision was met with nods of agreement, right now they needed all their military power to push the enemy out of their homeland. However, in their hearts, they knew that the road ahead was going to be treacherous and bloody.

Back in Vladivostok, the Arcadian troops continued their sweep of the city. Buildings that were once vibrant havens of life now stood as gloomy specters under the merciless flames of war. The Arcadian soldiers showed no mercy to resistance fighters hiding within these structures but showed respect and mercy to any civilians.

The fighting was being broadcasted to the entire world as reporters were allowed to record the Arcadian push onto Russian soil. Videos of Resistance fighters being shot were spread throughout the internet, as well as videos of civilians being evacuated by Arcadian forces.

A small camp was created outside of the city to house the evacuated civilians who were being fed and taken care of by Arcadian doctors and specialists. The camp was being constantly expanded to house the millions of people that once lived in Vladivostok and the thousands that lived in small towns and villages around it.

The Russian Air force had deployed their aircraft and long-range bombers to try and by time for their forces to arrive. However, the Arcadian military didn't push any further besides taking the entirety of Russia's eastern coastal regions.

Meanwhile, all over the world Russian forces were recalled from deployments back to Russia to deal with the Arcadian forces.
