Where I came from...
Where I came from, people talk and gossip but listen
Where I came from, people misjudge and mock but critize to give a good point
Where I came from, people are but imperfect humans
If a local go home with someone not from that place
They think he is gonna be her husband
They think she is gonna be his wife
If the local came back without that person
They would usually ask,
"Where is your husband?" or "Where is your wife?"
Where I came from, life is a routine but not boring
Where I came from, electricity isn't really a problem but black-outs are common
Where I came from, houses are not just buildings but homes
Where I came from, families are close to each other
If I would choose another place to be from,
Where I came from would always be an option
It isn't New York and it isn't a slum
It's a place I would always call "home".
