New sword

I am stressed. Currently, it's 12:22 am. 'Sapphire, I have something to tell you.' Olivia said, pulling me to the nothing realm. I sat on the bed looking like a worried mother. "I am disappearing." My heart stopped in its tracks, everything including the attack on the school, I stopped worrying.

I swallowed "Y- you 're kidding right?" "Please!!! PLEASE tell me you're just joking, trying to get a rise out of me!" I said, constantly wiping my tears. I knew it was true. "How long do you have left?" I said my voice was still wavering. "At the very most three months I will barely be able to do anything by the time two months pass."

I clutched my heart now that I focused on it Olivia's presence was a lot weaker. That's the reason she talked little lately. "I- is there a way to stop it?" I asked, hoping for a way to fix it. "No, my life span was only temporary, it seems." Her impending death killed me on the inside.

"Damn It!!!" I said crying more and more. Eventually I exited the realm. I cried for hours until my tears dried up. Then I just sat there counting every second as if it was her last. 'You know you can't keep worrying about me.' Olivia said as the birds started chirping.

'But I have to or else who else is going to remember you?' I asked, still in sadness.

'I only need you to remember me.' She said, caressing my cheek. I looked down. How could she just accept this?

I sat there thinking about our memories together. It just made me want to cry more, but I couldn't cry anymore. I got up out of my bed to wash my face and get ready for class. Leona had an early start this morning. I got out of bed to see the TV on while Leona was watching a cartoon.

She looked back at me. "Are you okay?" Leona asked me with a worried look on her face. I mustered up a fake smile that didn't reach my eyes. "Yeah I'm fine, just worried about the school." She looked at me, frowned, and looked away.

I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. My shirt was soaked in tears. My eyes were bloodshot and looked tired. I rinsed my face. I soaked my long hair that was at this point touching my arse. I grabbed a pair of scissors and gave myself a good haircut, not one like those girls in fiction who have no idea what they're doing.

I had been cutting my hair for 10 years on earth. I cut my hair and it was almost touching my shoulders. I put some hair in front of my eyes to cover some of my forehead. My head felt a lot lighter now I looked back into the mirror. My hair actually looked good while covering my bloodshot eyes.

I came out of the bathroom after cleaning my hair from the floor. I sat on the couch with Leona. "WHOA!!! Who are you???" She said jokingly. I turned my head and looked at her. My eyesight had been way better nowadays, so I could see perfectly fine.

I got ready for the school day and soon enough it was time to head off. I attracted some lookes of curiosity. Eventually I found Brian I tapped him on the soldier he was looking around curiously. He jumped and I startled him. I lightly chuckled. He looked into my hair/eyes. "You did something different with your hair." He said confusedly. "But why?" He asked. "It was hard to take care of such long hair." I answered with a half-truth. "Huh it's strange you're not hiding anything are you?"

"No." I replied solidly

the next day....

Once we all finished visiting our lockers, I realized. My sword had broken in the last fight I had been in. I need a new sword.

The thing I had been forgetting about I forgot about it once again. It was the noble ball. I had 1000 Heiro deposited into my bank account after the mission.

6pm after school…

"I'm going out!" I yelled to Leona. "Okay!" She yelled back from her bedroom… Eventually I arrived at a blacksmith's shop. I knew what I wanted. As a speed relying fighter I think a thin long sword is better than a great sword.

I entered the black smith shop. It had plenty of swords and axes across the walls. Every wall was a smoky black due to the smoke. I heard loud slams coming from behind the curtains of the counter. A muscular man with more muscle clearly on his right hand walked from the curtains.

Unlike idiots who work as black smiths in enclosed areas without a hazard mask this guy had one on. Smart. "So what weapon do you want?" He asked in a surprisingly light voice. I worked out the dimensions. "I want a thin long sword 46x10x3." Or 3 inches wide, 10 inches for the guard and the blade 46 inches. "And what about the handle?" He asked in a light voice of excitement he loved his work I could tell.

I walked out of the store and I jogged back to the school. We weren't allowed out of the city. I found the school teleportation station. It had some people there. The line was going really fast. In about half a minute I was at the front. I got my ID scanned. I came back to the front of the familiar castle-looking school.

I saw some people in black hopping around the school; they weren't hostiles. They must've been the security at the school.

2 days later…

I returned to the shop once again. I rang the bell that was at the counter to notify the blacksmith.

He came back with my sword in hand. It was perfect. I paid an extra 100 Heiro for a high-quality scabbard worth it!!! The scabbard was matte-black with a red cross wrapping around the middle.

I looked at it excitedly. "You look like a kid in a candy shop." He said in a light voice taking off his mask to reveal a young face. He was at most 16 and at least 14.

"I'm just excited!" I exclaimed. He chuckled and delicately handed the sword to me. I pulled out a long thin matte-black sword. The handle had wavelike designs in a blood red color. I studied the thin long cross. It was perfect!!! He smiled a bright smile. "By the way, what's your name?" I asked hoping to remember this shop whenever I needed equipment.

"My name is Matim." He said turning around to get back to work. I left the blacksmith shop to test it out…

Once I got to the school, I went to the dueling grounds where there were plenty of people.

All you had to do was stand at a dueling circle and somebody would walk up since it's so crowded here. After 30 seconds, someone had walked up. He had strawberry colored hair and freckles.

He was good-looking. He took two looks at me and started blushing. Another pre-teen with plenty of hormones to spare. To activate the fighting dome we both must say ready. "Ready!"

I said almost immediately after he said the start code and we started. He suddenly materialized metal gauntlets out of the air.

I pulled my sword out. I wasn't used to it being this light but I felt like I could fly. I placed my sword horizontally with two hands like a knight statue. I suddenly accelerated testing out my new limits. He didn't even have time to widen his eyes as I took a ship towards him. I slightly cut the front of his cheek.

But he moved out of the way. He knitted his brows trying to focus as much as he could. The gauntlets turned to spiked gauntlets, but they were thinner. He'll have trouble switching his weight with all the weight on the front of his gauntlets.

He moved fast. I tracked his movements completely still. I finally found him coming from the side. I quickly shifted my weight to come into contact with his gauntlets. My sword slightly bent then it rebounded slightly, taking him off guard. Usually my sword would already be carrying an attack with it's weight, but that wasn't the case here. I had to actually move my sword.

So I had some delay in my movements. I retreated but he ripped part of my uniform on my stomach that started bleeding. My uniform repaired itself but my opponent was silently celebrating. He focused again. I didn't want to rely on my power to see what he was going to do.

I needed to get better with my sword, not my power.

We rushed towards each other suddenly. I got a shallow scratch on his chest after holding my sword vertically. I'm still trying to figure out my starting form. I finally decided to hold it low diagonally. We clashed a few more times until I got a X mark on his chest. I didn't cut him deeply since I didn't want to injure him seriously or knock him out just a friendly spar.

His wounds were still bleeding despite his healing uniform. It only repaired his clothes. I dashed in once again hoping to get a straight line in the middle of the X. He blocked my attack with his back hand and retracted the spikes to punch me in my stomach.

I moved quickly using my footwork to sidestep him, making his momentum his enemy. He was still carrying out his punch when I raised my sword to get a solid semi-deep cut in to end it.

He tried turning around but I still got him. I used more blunt force than cutting so I didn't accidentally kill him.

His body slammed against the floor, he coughed up a little blood and he quickly wiped it.

The dome turned red then turned off. "Raimy has lost the match." A robotic voice said. I reached my hand out for a handshake. He accepted it. "Good game." He said with a happy smile on his face.

It was now 6:30 pm so it was time for everyone to get back to their dorms. After 30 minutes of human traffic, I finally made it to my dorm. I entered my dorm to see Leona sleeping quietly on the couch. I grabbed her a blanket and went to my own room to meditate.

I was on the verge of 14. I was at 13.9. I had been progressing at a monstrous rate since I removed the disability I had. It was dimming my life force. Making it harder for me to do anything with my core.

It was very hard to get anywhere without meditating for weeks at a time. I needed actual combat to advance. I knew that. I just wanted to look at my progress after my duel. If I went to sleep this early I would wake up at 4:00 am. I decided to work out more intensely than my daily workout.

I started slowly with my footwork, then faster and faster it was getting harder and harder to keep it up. Eventually after five minutes of footwork at maximum speed I couldn't keep it up. I pulled my sword out of my scabbard to try to get better at it. Put my sword above my head and swung down with all of my strength. Making a breeze go through my room. "Ahh that's better." I said, talking to myself.

I first started attacking trying to find the most unpredictable attacks to fight against. I would have to keep dueling to fully practice
