A loud alarm went off when I got up from my bed. I hopped off of my bed. I looked right at my armor and put it on. The quiet kid was still sitting on the edge of his bed, then he stood up and started going. I put on some baggy cargo pants with a military logo on it. They had a camouflage pattern on them, then I put on a collarless, sleeveless baggy jacket.
"Report outside in 1 minute!" A man with a gruff and unforgiving voice said roughly. I walked outside to see that all the others were in their own respective armors as well, and those who didn't have armor had clearly military-supplied armor.
We were all lined up and counted, then we all walked to the outside where it was damp and cool with blades of green grass touched ever so slightly by drops of morning rain. It was still raining outside, hitting my face and hair.
We were all in rows. "Did I say to put on your armors!!" "No sir!" A majority replied and took off their armors including me. It was raining heavily and my jacket was soaked with my hair sticking to my face.
"Now! I don't care who gets hurt! All of you fight!" I looked up at the sky, then someone took the first hit on my face. Making me swing over towards the right. Then everybody started fighting messily.
I wanted to turn in a rage. Grabbing his collar and looking straight into his eyes. I dropped him. Chaos was ensuing. I don't know what this guy thought this would do, but for about thirty minutes everybody except me just fought. I got some bruises on my face and chest.
I saw a fist coming in my direction, grabbed it, and flipped him over onto my back. People were using their powers and everything. I then saw three circles appear in the sky and a sudden long-range beam fell down from the sky and right under it, I sat.
I turned on my power and my Hacht. Sitting right under it and the beam hurt a lot and was very painful for my arm. I felt the most rejuvenating power of all time, and everybody stopped fighting and looked at the beam. I then moved quickly, speed blitzing through the crowd.
Then, seeing the beam, more people summoned their powers and sent long-range attacks upon us. Then after that I just dodged more and more and more counter-attacks. I then saw big guy tall lean and beating everybody. I walked up to him and threw a punch infused with the energy. He tanked the punch but then he fell over and the whites of his eyes were showing.
I panted heavily that was a heavy punch. I had no more energy left for anything. After that I sat down on top of his body. I was halfway asleep already.
Then when there were much fewer people left while it was still raining and the field was dyed red. Then the sergeant who was commanding all of this stopped all of the chaos. This was an act of evil. Ordering all of us to fight each other. "You see all of this!!!" He yelled out pridefully.
What? "This is what a battlefield will look like!!!." I turned and looked around this? No, this is what war looks like! And nobody will survive fully intact!" I looked around in surprise. He made all of us fight like this. To give us a demonstration.
"And you all fought like soldiers! Bloody and unforgiving." "I didn't even have to egg any of you on. Looks like I got the most violent batch perfect!" "Now all of you who are still conscious, I want you to carry each and every person who is unconscious here to the infirmary.
I want not a single slip, fall, or step on one cadet!" He yelled. I zoned out. What is all of this. Just another horrible experience under my belt. I wonder what's up next? I grabbed the person I was sitting under and slung him over my shoulder and weakly carried him through the field
Over the bodies of the fellow cadets, through into the tents with the hospital staff. I then went back and carried another. There were also others who were carrying the fallen cadets. It took hours,
On my way carrying a cadet, a boy walked up next to me carrying another cadet. I was drenched, and it was still raining. "Since we're both cadets, I figured we should know each other, so hi, my name is Matt." I kept my eyes forward. I appreciated the effort, but I wasn't here to make connections, so I didn't respond.
"What's the story? Why are you so sad?" Matt asked relentlessly. I just carried the bodies back to the infirmary. My pants were soaked and muddy, stepping through the deep puddles. He kept talking to me. I'm not here to make friends.
After some more hours, I was sore down to the bone-tired ready to sleep extremely hungry sleep deprived, and most of all my back hurt like hell.
We had finally finished cleaning up everything. "Now you 50! Can go into the infirmary now get some food and have some free time. Congrats!" he yelled even when he was complimenting us. I trudged down to the infirmary and looked at the panicked staff.
I collapsed onto the floor, then got up and found a free bed. And dropped on the free shabby makeshift white bed. Then a nurse came in and wrapped up my arms with three layers of bandages.
"Don't take these off ever. You'll need them in the future." I could tell they were enchanted to be waterproof and force resistant. She put the band-aid and patches on my bruised face. "Your good to go."
I trudged back to B-block opened up my stuff grabbed a chocolate bar and my phone and began to text Theo. "how u doing?" "Good wbu?" He replied. "Not that good." "May I ask why?" He responded. "Idk I feel like I just made a bad choice that will govern my life for a long time y'know?" "Oh well what's passed has passed and what's gone is gone." "But it's not gone its going to stay there that bad choice." "Well if it gets to much, just know I'm right here."
"Sure right here a couple hundred miles away."
I texted faling on my back smiling then wincing in pain. "Ow." "It's 2 am shouldn't you be sleeping ms, prestigious and perfect?" I texted back a flat-face emoji. "Well it's time for my night to end." "Okay bye."
I turned off my phone wirth the click of a button and fell asleep quickly.
…
Waking up confused and really tired I heard the Colonels voice over the PA "Line up in the cafeteria for breakfast!" I have more than one pair of military patterned cargo-style pants. I put on a baggy jacket and walked to the cafeteria only to find out that the line was already so long.
And I was still hungry very very hungry. I stood in the line and waited until I got to the front all they had was baked beans some dry turkey and green beans. I walked around and found one table where one was sitting and sat there.
Why because I didn't want to be bothered. "Hello." The girl who I had thought was a boy said quietly she was obviously a girl and I didn't know that no time for self-bashing she talked quietly for some reason. She just has short hair. I lifted up my hand and waved at her.
I then dug into my food.
It tasted pretty bad how you can make turkey taste bad I don't know it's just one of those "meh" foods. "So uh, can we be friends?" I nodded no. I don't want to make friends here they'll probably die anyway we're here to train for war not for friendship and most definitely not for games.
"Okay." "Once you have finished that report outside again!!!" I shivered after what happened last time? I've seen some pretty messed up things i my life scratch that really messed up things. And yet that… That shook me to my very soul.
He had hundreds of kids willing to or not fight for hours on end with no limits nor restrictions in the freezing cold and rain it was a war zone. I walked to the outside where we were lined up all in rows carefully.
"You will all be separated into your respective blocks headed by sergeants of the army. Five officers walked in and took each group by its row. Our sergeant was a pale white skinned gruff-looking man with a buzzcut.
"All of you soldiers shall be doing this obstacle course whoever fails participates in cleaning every inch of the school excluding the rooms occupied by the students and will also be labeled "Sporty." as sarcasm for how athletically inept you are. Let's get started.
