A glimpse of hope

Troy looked at his brother laying under the blankets. His brother's silhouette traced out before him. Reese's body was a shadow of a man that he was less then a year ago. Even then Reese wasn't the man Troy wished he could have been. The basket ball super star Reese wanted to be when he was young. Before the accident. Before the day that both their lives changed forever.

Reese could win an arm wrestling contest with anyone around him. This upper body was chiseled to protection As his lower extremity slowly withered away. His arms became strong and bulky with his constant upper body workout. Reese would work with what he had. Reese would never give up and never serenader. Never cry for himself his mother did enough of that for him. His mom's world had blown up enough in her life. Her life was hard enough. He could choose to accept life the way it is or be defeated.

He never sacrificed his dreams he got better ones. Reese never let the world bring him down. It concurred his legs but his will would power on. His heart was his strongest part of him there was only one person who was allowed to concur his heart. She held his hand and wouldn't let go. if she did she let go it was for her own needs and she would require someone to hold his hand. She was his wife and until death may they part but forever would their hearts be intertwined.

Troy looked at his sister in law holding tight to his hand. She was his ray of hope. If Reese made it through this it would be because of her. She was his whole world. She was his anchor in the storm.

Troy looked at her with admiration. He didn't know her well. Yet her actions made up for lost time. He had seen enough to know that she would love him even into the next life. She was a small glimpse of hope. This was one thing that Reese was better then Troy at. He could make people fall in love with him. He carried a since of joy around with him. Troy had fueled off of that endless light for years without knowing it.

Troy had just returned from picking at his dinner with his mother. She barely ate as did he. This was a hard time that he knew she would gracefully overcome with time. She was the type of person who was numb during the trauma and would find herself pouring her sole out in her hand when the dust settles. Troy inherited his mother's strength. Although Reese inherited his mother's heart. Troy always felt a little numb to the world. He always seamed to be watched the world go by like a glass globe. Amazed at the beauty that he seamed to hold in his hands but too large to truly fit. His dream and drive kept him from picking his own flower to smell. His rose still remained unnoticed or any other flower for that same accord. In some small way Troy felt his true potential made him perfect in his field yet kept him from truly connecting with people.

Tonight was going to be a ruff one. He looked out at the fresh rain that had fallen. The smell of clouds blessed the air. Troy loved the rain it always brought him good luck. He held a hope in his heart that the rain would bless him once again. A small miracle he wished for his greatest wish ever. Please save my brother. help his body to stop fighting for the wrong cause. He let it out for all the gods and the universe to hear. He let it out his final wish sending a beacon to anyone or any power to hear his distress call.

Troy believed in a higher power. He had seen the biggest miracles came from those who believed. There was many studies on both sides of the argument. He felt that the power in ones self was stronger if it believed in something. What you wanted to call it was up to you. Troy had his own name for it. He called it hope.
