Hope caught a glimpse of her daughter. She seamed to have been bothered by something she saw. Sadly hospitals have those moments that make a person lose faith. Hope knew in Jane's case god only blinks. It might take her a second but she could always find her way back to center.
As they started to eat Hope reached over to take her daughter had. She seem distracted in her deep thoughts. She reached out to bring her back to home. In that instant her mother instinct called out to her. This was the moment a true mother knows without explanation. Clarity like this will make a person move mountains. At that second her heart collapsed in her chest crushing her lunges. In the m same second she could hear the blood beating wildly through her ears. She needs to help her and now and the clock was against her. Hope escorted Jane to the car Jane was little the wiser. Jane was going to collapse and they couldn't help her here. She wasn't like all these other people. She was a her little star angle.
The car couldn't go fast enough. She knew her destination and a time machine was the only thing that could get her there on time. She knew the backroads well. The tight turns she had practiced regularly where done with expert accuracy. Her little star angle started to slope in her seat. Jane's body was becoming weaker by the second. She could see the light was starting to dim on her bracelet it was barely a baby blue. This only made her feel more anxious. If it turned white she would have to surrender her to them. Jane would learn about who she is and be lost forever.
The clinching on Hope's collar bone was just going to have to wait. She was the hero of this story for now. Hope had to save her daughter. She could see the small warehouse in the middle of nowhere and it was her destination to save her life. To save their lives for how could she go on without her. It was the only place that she could go. Having hope live so far away was terrifying. They hired a man to be within a short distance of her at all time. They had to all but kill the man to do so. In actuality there was a death certificate included in this situation. Two to be exact. He was required to have all the necessary medicine on him at all times. He was trained in every aspect of blending in. He was trained to be able to take down anyone that posed a threat. He even did bribes and underhanded work with ease. The love of their daughter was their highest possession.
Hope made a short phone call as the dust flew in the hair. No one but her knew this number and she had etched it into her memory. The conversation was short place time and location was said in fewest words possible. Even all that was in code. Hope zeroed in her consideration and pushed the car to its max. The engine protested as the car slid down the road. The engine could burn up as long as her daughter was safe.
The air smelt like melted rubber when she arrived. She needed the key it was in a safe inside one of the empty offices. Few people went here but it was maintained as a safe house. She had to leave her here in the car as her fever started to burn. Less then five minutes remained so she stretched her legs out in one stride after another she kept on pushing harder and harder. Her lunges expanded and she pushed them till they burned. She was hope's drive to exercise every morning and it paid off. She flew as fast she humanly possible could.
Hope was getting older her fear was that as she aged Jane would have more outbreaks. In the end they would be helpless together. She had one task get the key and get the bracelet off. She couldn't keep herself alive she had lost too many markers. Her body would fail as long as it stayed in place. The bracelet kept her from creating too many markers. Every time she transferred her markers Jane lost a small piece of herself. There was no way of knowing this time what it would be.
The safe opened without issue and the return gave her the push she needed. Hope had sprinted the entire way the sweat was evidence of that. It dripped into her eyes as she brushed it off her forehead. The stinging didn't even faze her her drive was too strong. Only minute later she exited the doors to the building and with all she had left she moved even faster. It seamed like hours in only minutes had passed. Hope placed the coin on her wrist and the bracelet sprang off. It held the faintest blue only offering her the smallest amount of hope.
