Where am I

Troy woke up with a hang over. The light being let in from the window across the room was burning his eyes. He grabbed the pillow and covered his eyes. He slowly peaked out from under the pillow. Trying to focus was painful.

Where am I? ...He thought to himself.

The small glimpse of the room was enough for him to know he wasn't in his own bed. He sorted through his thoughts. What was his last memory. The ambulance. The dart. Crap!!! where am I. This time he pulled the pillow from his face barring the pain in determination for answers. What he found only presented him with more questions.

The room was neutral no decorations of any kind. Even hotel rooms have more personality. He sat in the edge of the bed and noticed an attached bathroom. He needed one so that was a relief. Inside he found a individual package of over the counter pain relief and a sealed disposable cup. A new pair of cloths and a note.

Sorry for the headache needed to move quickly didn't have time for a stand off. Food is on level 2

What the heck? Still a shower and a new set of clothes where welcomed. His stomach was growling and despite the situation he wasn't about ready to starve himself. He set off to find level Two. He found a room with four tables and a case of hot food and a case of cold food. Both had glass doors it looks like it kept enough food for maybe eight people. There was no one else in the room. There was no one to pay so he took a tray of hot food and found a spot.

Troy didn't know if it was because he was hungry or he had spent the last few years of his life eating cafeteria food. He enjoyed the food even though he was still on edge of where he was. Before he could finish his dish a man walked into the room and joined him.

Troy looked across the table confused because there where three other tables. He quickly read the situation and realized that he was about ready to have "the conversation".

I know you won't recognize me, but for me it is so nice to see you. I hope you don't mind that i joined you.

The man sat in the seat across from Troy. Troy looked at the man trying to figure out what this crazy man was talking about. He was right he didn't recognize him. All that went through Troy's mind was this can't be good. Troy put down his fork. He had lost his appetite.

Have you been watching me? Why do you want to meet. Why did you have to tranquilize me to do so? Oh and for my final question id where is my brother. He kept them all to himself. He knew he was in danger and it was best to not upset the man.

The man across from him only half smiled. This was exactly how he would have reacted. He wondered if he had gotten any of his momma jeans. He was smart and that made him proud. First time in a situation like his and he passed with flying colors.

Troy don't get your underwear in a bunch. We will go see him once you finish. You have been out for twelve hours. I know you like to eat so finish up. I am surprised you woke up at all today. I thought it would take you at least a day. But some boys are built tough.

Troy looked puzzled at the man across from him. This man talked like his father. He remembered telling Reese that same phrase. Some boys are built tough. We are those boys Reese. We are tough. He was only seven when his father went missing. There was always a small chance he could be alive but this man looked nothing like his father. He didn't even sound like him. If this was his father he was a deserter.

The man looked at Troy and watched his every emotion. He watched Troy's mind pull at itself. Denial always hides the truth. He was close and he expected an explosion. He waited, he needed Troy to get mad first. There was no way he could walk into his life with a "hay i am back". Like he just walked out the door. No he had walked out of their lives. That is a door you have to be invited into. He was sad because he knew he didn't have time on his side.

Troy was mad and he didn't exactly know why. He had a pretty good guess. This man had been spying on him. He probably had something to do with his father leaving. Right now he has the nerve to sit at his table and eat with him.

I am finished let's go. Troy stood up leaving his half finished tray of food. The man did the same thing. He bore no emotion. He led the way and the two walked in silence together.

The man spoke in a clear voice like the conversation didn't even bother him. It was just normal dinner table conversation.

Okay, then we will be going to the third floor.

He is doing rather well. I think he should be able to walk in the next couple of weeks. He will need to build muscle first or he would be able to do so probably tomorrow.

Troy was confused with what this man just said. Excuse me, did you just say he will be able to walk? I am sorry because he will never walk again! I think either you are mistaken or you have the wrong patient.

The man just smirked how and when did this this punk kid think he knew everything. Yes i said walk. And yes i am talking about your brother Reese.

Troy was angry at this man. he was wrong and his brother was in his care. Troy didn't say another word. He was trying to figure out how to get him out of this place.

The door opened and they walked down the hall. Soft moans of pain came from a room as they walked by. Fear struck Troy. What do they do to people here.

The man stoped by the room closest to the elevator. She was awake and he needed to administer her the next dose. "You can go on without me he is in room five." The man walked into the room but Troy didn't continue walking. Instead he fallowed the man.

Before Troy was the same girl from the plane. She was sweating and tossing from side to side. He looked down at her wrist to double check. There was no bracelet. Could she be someone who looks exactly like her. Troy stood there for the first time not knowing what to do. He trained for this why was he just standing there. Something in his heart paralyzed him. Her long hair stuck to her body. Troy reached over to move it from off her face. To make her more comfortable and to see her face more clearly.

The man caught his wrist. Don't touch her. Her body is under great stress. If you have as little as a cold you could kill her. She is linked to Reese if she dies so does he.

Troy looked at the man. What he was saying was completely garbage. Linked together? She is healing him!

Let's leave her to rest. The deeper she sleeps the better the outcome. We don't want her to suffer.

Troy was dragging out of the room by the man. He then locked to door after he left. Troy stood there in complete silence. Was there anyway what he was saying could be true. Was she somehow healing him. Was she doing this willingly or was she forced. Why did he know her. That question had been bugging him since he say her the first time.

The man spoke breaking his confusion. Son i need to warn you. The same rules apply for Reese no mater how uncomfortable he looks you can't touch him. They are linked she contains a virus of sorts it is hard to explain it. In such a short conversation. They had soldiers who would preform medical treatment for people. They where rare and would only protect certain individuals. Her mother was one. She died trying to save her father. No one knew she had these powers till well You. Although i think she may have used them on her current mother when she was little. If it wasn't for her, you too would have died from that fall.

How did this man know so much about him. Why is he telling him this information. All in the moment Troy couldn't contain himself any longer.

Who are you?!! Why have you been watching me. Why do you know so much about me. And who is she!

Each answer came more of a shock then the first.

I am your father. I will always watch over you, no mater what. It is my job to know everything about you. She is your first love, son. It is very clear she how much she loved you back. Her name is Jane. She is the chief's daughter. He is keeping you safe. You will meet him soon.

Now shall we go Angela and Reese are waiting. We don't have much time. You can't stay here for long.
