Chapter 32

The practical exam would be held the next day. Lulu has already prepared a room in a hotel near the examination venue. Not only Lixue and Thirteen, most of the candidates who weren't from Irisa City also stayed there for the night. Therefore, it was unusually bustling there with young men in the prime of their youth.

Although it was time for them to rest, most of them were still awake talking about the practical exam they will be doing tomorrow. It was apparent how nervous they are. It wasn't because the practical exam rules and system were already announced and they saw how difficult it was. It was exactly because it hasn't been announced when it was usually informed at least a day before the exam.

Added to the fact that this year's supervisor was General Yi, they grew more anxious. In his last term, the candidates were required to capture at least one level 4 beast whatever it takes, or else none of the candidates would pass.

It was simply telling them to just go and die, okay?!

Fortunately, they weren't given any limit to how many members they could have in one group, and they were given 7 days. And out of desperation they barely captured one with their life depended on it. It was probably the very first time in history that all the student candidates united on that one planet to desperately catch a single Level 4 beast with curses flying everywhere in the broadcast.

Thankfully, General Yi didn't mind all those frustrated curses from the student candidates and even subtly praised them in the entrance ceremony. They couldn't even muster any energy to hate him! Why did he have to be so cool?! We're so mad but have nowhere to vent!

Eventually, the students from that particular year became the fiercest class in the entire First Military Academy, rivaling even their seniors. They were both very chaotic yet united and became a powerhouse class until they graduated.

Though they saw the result, still, none of the student candidates would want to go through what they went through. They prefer to be normal soldiers than powerful madmen, okay! Thank you very much!

Well, all that aside, Lixue was lying leisurely in his suite after taking a nice hot bath. He was relaxed unlike the other candidates as if he wasn't one of the participants in tomorrow's practical exam.

He was reading and studying the grimoire in his hand lacking any studious posture. He has been staying on one page and didn't budge from there even after changing position several times.

Grimoire is truly too complicated for this little demon, my lord~

Though he complained as such internally, in reality, he already mastered all the low-level demon rank spells over the span of 2 months while he was progressing steadily with his mid-level demon rank spells.

The real little demon students in hell would've cursed him to death if they really existed. Then what does that make them who studied those spells in school for 3 whole years are?? Micro demon?!

Just as he finally comprehended a new spell, Thirteen knocked on his room. The suite Lulu prepared for them was obviously the best presidential suite. Both of them have a separate room with a personal bathroom inside. A spacious living room separated their room with a spectacular night view of Irisa City laid out through the windows.

"Come in."

The door slid open and Thirteen walked in, "Are we going to do our night…" before he continued his sentence, he saw Lixue's lazy eyes and cleverly changed his words, "Mission? Our night mission! Are we going out tonight?"

Lixue looked at the grimoire by his side and yawned, "No, I'm too lazy."

"Well, whatever you say."

Lixue glanced at him before saying Thirteen's real purpose, "You can go play if you want. I don't remember putting stiff restrictions on you."

"Your Highness is the best. I'll bring back souvenirs. Not that you'll like it anyway." Thirteen waved before leaving the room.

Lixue continued reading the Grimoire. He was too concentrated that he didn't really check what Thirteen was doing out there. Although he was a demon who already didn't require sleeping, reading this Grimoire really felt like he was a normal bored and sleepy human being.

In a dark bedroom, Tie Ningjui turned off his communicator screen. His face has gone through many changes for the past hour and now that he has reached the conclusion it could only be described as calm. Scarily calm.

He stood up from his bed and walked out of his room.

When he stumbled upon those files, that he clearly remembered weren't there before, inside his communicator, his first thought was that someone might've hacked into his communicator and wanted to report it to OPB, considering what he has just gotten into not too long ago.

But when he read the files' names which are 'Sister' and 'Uncle', he halted his action and after some hesitation, he opened them. Now, he was glad that he broke through his hesitation earlier.

There were locks securing the 2 files but surprisingly, the questions were very private matters of his and the passwords were things he personally knew about.

"Big Brother Ning, you're not asleep yet?"

Tie Ningjui looked to his side where his little sister was drawing on the living room table. Nobody is using paper to draw anymore, so his parents gifted her a drawing pad for her birthday. Since then, she has been using it when she was undergoing treatment.

He walked to her side and sat down next to her, "What are you drawing?"

"I'm drawing a nice big house for mom and dad so God can see it and build it for them in heaven." Tie Lanhua answered with a big smile.

Tie Ningjui watched her draw lovingly and he couldn't help but remember the content of the files again. His smile faded.

He thought Lei Weming was a respectable and kind man that wanted to help their family from the goodness of his heart. He even threw away all his misgivings about him being a leader of an underworld criminal gang and his rough character.

The people in that building were all very nice to him and he never saw them did anything too outrageous except for how they demand payments from their debtors.

But he has to admit now that he was too naive.

If Mr. Frost didn't come to him that day and well… basically incinerated the group, he would be some old man's plaything by now. And that wasn't the worst part. His sister, his precious little sister, would've been laying lifeless with her heart ripped out without him knowing.

She probably wouldn't have proper burial either and would be tossed into a sea somewhere, threw into an abandoned dumpster planet, or fed to the beast. Whichever it was to erase her trace and any existence left of her that could be a threat to that Lei Weming.

He couldn't believe it when he saw the recording and documents. Right after Lei Weming agreed to help his family, that same night, he went to make dealings about his sister's heart. Even the attack at the restaurant was actually staged with the primary goal to kill his father and him. Luckily he managed to escape because of his father's sacrifice or else his sister would already die before even feeling alive properly with her new heart.

Auctioning his sister's heart in the black market?! He didn't know people, human beings, could be so cruel to an innocent child who only wanted to live healthily just because of wealth.

Tie Ningjui became gloomier from his thought and watched his little sister absentmindedly. Tie Lanhua noticed his brother's strange attitude and asked worriedly, "Big Brother Ning, are you okay?"

Tie Ningjui snapped out of his daze and smiled, "I'm okay," He stood up and pinched her cheek, "I'm going to take a breather."

"Okay, be careful. It's already dark outside."

Tie Ningjui nodded and went out. He walked around the neighborhood as he sighed. He didn't understand why Mr. Frost gave him that file. If his goal was for him to take revenge, then wasn't it pointless to inform him about this after the deed has been done?

Now all that's left was exasperation.

He cooled himself after a walk and went back to his apartment. When the elevator door opened, he saw two men in front of his door. The two men also looked back when they heard the elevator sound. Turned out he recognized them. But after what he knew from the file, he couldn't muster his good feelings towards them anymore.

"Young Master Ning." Both of them awkwardly called.

"I'm not some 'Young Master' and I never was, Brother Lang, Brother Yu."
