Neighbours

"I don't see a problem with the fact that there have already been threats here as well, and I can protect myself, not to be rude or anything." She shrugs, it was not exactly the way the goddess was spoken to, but guessing she was new, it would take some time getting used to.

The goddess chuckled,"I like her." She gestured to Amber when she spoke to Indigo, who then let out a sigh of relief. "Though there is no guarantee that you won't be forsaken open to any threats here, it is still safer than where you were at home Earth as creatures tend to have easier access to wreak havoc there."

"Oh…" She frowned, 'so that means I could never return home?'

The goddess smiled,"Please there is no need for frowns. Soon all of this will be solved, I only need you to relax a little but make no mistakes, this is no vacation and staying here will not be all rainbows and sunshine as there are protocols to follow."

"From here on Amber Lane, welcome to the world of Ethevion, and the grounds you stand on now are known as Angexthus as I am sure you have been told. You will be given a room here, where you'll stay until you are ready to leave, you will be given special tests and the knowledge acquired will lead you on. I hope you are willing to commit."

Amber was freaking out,"Commit, what does she mean commit, that kinda sounded like a threat, is this a game and if it is can I die in this game? Oh my, is this really happening?!" Her eyes were wide and frightened as she ranted to a very annoyed Indigo.

"Are you done yet?" She sighed at Amber's whining.

"I'm not sure, I guess it depends. Am I going to die because then no, no I am not done."

Arsan placed a hand on her shoulder,"There is absolutely nothing to worry about, Miss Lane...I think." He chuckles sarcastically, scaring her even more.

Indigo scolds him,"Shut up Arsan, Amber you're not gonna die, now let's get you to your new room." They walked through the halls of the school. It was where students new to their abilities practise in order to be trained enough to work at the Queendom.

"So I'm going to be staying here?" Amber asks looking through the hall, and Indigo nods,"Yes but it's only temporary until the goddess makes the decision whether or not you should stay at the Queendom, there's room here where the teachers also stay in case they do not feel like returning to their beds there."

"There's an open room, right here. Sorry if it isn't the best." Indigo pointed at a door, further than the others in the hall. She unlocks the door and pushes it open. It was the exact opposite of the one she woke up in. Amber walked into the room and the first thing she got greeted with was the large windowsill/seat at the large window with pillows and around it was a shelf built in a 'L' shape books being under the sill also coming down the sides.

The floor was a shiny wood, partially empty apart from the bed being in the corner with a small table next to it, a lamp on top. There was also another door which had to be the washroom. This room was bigger than the other, with two more paintings on the wall.

She  removed her boots and put them in a corner, feeling the red carpet with circles designs that took up almost half of the room, being under the bed. under the bed was a white large red carpet.

She looked around at the antique remaining decorations from the standing clock, mirror on the wall and lastly an empty wardrobe.

Amber turned to Indigo with an excited grin,"It's really antique and soothing, I like it."

"Good. Well with that being all I will be leaving now. Don't tell him I said this but Arveion's room is almost right next to yours if you need help with anything. '' Indigo gives her a nod, followed by a slight sloppy wave before going back through the halls.

"Goodbye…" Amber murmured as she was already halfway through the hall.

"I don't think I will ever talk to him though.'

She then sits at the windowsill going through some of the books on the shelf watching as the painted sky slowly loses its colour, the shadows beginning to peek when she hears a knock on the door.

"Coming…" She placed the book back on the sill, and made her to the door, twisting the knob to see Indigo.

"Here's some clothes to add to your wardrobe with your time here, the ones at the bottom is your uniform."

'Uniform?'

"Thanks" She took the clothes, "but Indigo—" Amber started but Indigo cut her off, answering her unfinished question

"Listen Amber, the goddess may have tried to make it sound nicer but this is like she said no vacation. Being this said chosen one, you will go through a lot of extreme tests and rules. You will learn to act the part, look the part and train the part, if you wish to keep the ones you love safe I mean."  She warns, a complete different look in her eyes than what Amber was accustomed with.

She frowned, and took a step back."Okay well have a goodnight…" She looks down at her feet and then closes the door.

'This can't be happening…'

'I don't want to stay here, despite how beautiful it is, but she says it's the way to protect my family.'

She placed the clothes in the wardrobe and tried going to sleep but she couldn't, stressing about all the things that could go wrong. That will go wrong. She wanted to return to her normal life, where there's no demons, Kingdoms, or creatures. Sure her life wasn't perfect, but she couldn't keep her world/ life together nonetheless both of them.

What if she makes mistakes again.

Maybe this was for the better, another chance to become a better version of herself. 'I always wanted to leave the cycle of doing the days over and over again at home.'

Still, though it was selfish she didn't want to put her mother in trouble over anything else. Her eyes then widened.

'Wait, I wasn't thinking what would happen to my mother. She wouldn't be safe.' She gets an image in her head of her mother suffering at the hospital while she is lying in bed and flies upward.

Without thinking anything exactly Amber made her way to the door, snaking her shaky fingers around the knob and leaving the room.

She walks a little distance down the hall and knocks on Arveion's door, hugging her arms around herself as she waits. She looks down at her feet and kicks the air, until she hears the sound of a lock turning and looks up to be greeted at the sight of a shirtless guy, known as Arveion.

She heats up as she tries to look at any other thing but his broad tone chest.

"Good-goodnight, I see that we're neighbours...I" She stuttered, and she found herself staring at his chest once again.

"What do you want?" His voice was low and husky when he growled.

She inwardly scolds herself. 'Good job Amber now he's gonna think you're here to check him out.'

"Uhm…"

"What are you fucking deaf?" He was going to close the door from her lack of words having no interest in hearing her stutter but she stops him.

"Sorry, it's just you're...uhm…you know." She facepalms at the bored expression on his face,  "It's nothing, I j-just have something to ask you?"

He holds her eyes, and she shifts on her feet. "Go ahead then…"

"How long would I be here, you know in this world, I don't think I can be here for—"

"I don't know, Amber." He runs a hand through his hair, making it more messy. He looked like he was asleep, his eyes dark and halfway open and voice was rather deep.

"Oh okay…"

"However I hope you are ready for hell tomorrow. Don't be late." He chuckles darkly and before she could ask him to testify he slams the door in her face.

"Wait what?" She raised an eyebrow, but returned to her room either way, choosing to ignore him.
