Are You Afraid To Eat It, Helena?

Helena's heart seemed to be beating fast, not even daring to show it on her face. She was very sure that King Louis was revealing to her and that he might not be in a good mood at the time.

"Oh… may this night be good luck for me!" Helena groaned inwardly.

King Louis' footsteps sounded heavy, but he was getting closer to Helana.

While Helena still lowered her gaze, she had thought that Louis would stop right in front of her. But the king just walked past her and said nothing.

Glek….

"Did I do something wrong?" asked Helena, who was still thinking.

"Again, the woman who sent to my room! Can't it be, if this night of mourning doesn't need to be in a very ancient custom, in modern times like this!?" asked Louis, who was already sitting in his favorite big chair.

Both of Louis's hands rested on the arm of the chair, with one hand holding his chin which he used slowly. "Are you going to continue like that? Or do you have an abnormality in your bones?" asked Louis in his characteristic deep voice.

"Huh, what?" The confused Helena immediately confirmed your face, and slowly she ventured to leak the eyes of King Louis.

Of course, Louis still wanted to divulge Helena. He watched his empress from head to toe. "So... what do you think, Helena? That's your name, isn't it?" he asked again.

"Ee... yes... King Louis? My name is Helena, and what do you mean... my thoughts on the mourning ritual?" asked the clumsy Helena. Somehow he felt so small in front of King Louis.

"Yes, what do you think. Should we get rid of this ritual?" said Louis to clarify his question.

Helena's heart was confused. Why would a King Aarez question this to you? Moreover, Helena is just a young girl with the title empress. "Is the King doing a test on me?" Helena thought, still in doubt.

"Can't you answer that, Helena? When Revania was alive, she really admired your intelligence. Or are you actually not as smart as Revania says?" Ask Louis.

He slightly lifted his face, that he could show his arrogance as a King Aarez.

For a few seconds, Helena felt offended by Louis' words just now. In his heart, she was annoyed with the king's overly selfish attitude. It's only natural that the Aarez Country had a lot of trouble lately.

"Alright, King Louis, I'll give you my opinion."

"I know I'm not even twenty years old, but I've lived a hard-working life and not spoiled. So... I'm still learning. How to explain the notion of a night of mourning, from my point of view." Helena finally spoke up, and Louis was still watching in silence.

"For me, the night of mourning you don't need to do because losing someone meaningful doesn't mean you have to be down long enough. I know if Queen Revania deserves final respect to remember her services during her life." Helena paused for a moment to catch her breath slowly.

"But... I'm sure you also know if Queen Revania has been fighting for her people all this time. A night of mourning wouldn't be right if there were only you and me praying in this room. It would be better if all the people of Aarez joined in praying for her. " Helena continued to explain.

"Didn't I already give such an order," Louis said, frowning slightly.

"Yes, indeed. But… do you know that only a handful of people pray. Because they can't mourn without work, or just stay at home. Whereas you ordered that all day long prayers for Queen Revania never end." Helena showed a stern face without realizing it.

And finally, she could stare long into King Louis's eyes without blinking at all. Soon the King rose from his seat, and he began to walk to get closer to Helena.

"Helena… you're so stupid. Now look… he's going to chop off your head for sure. You talk too much!" Helena grumbled in her heart.

Helena's gaze shifted again, and she didn't dare to look at Louis, who was so close to her face.

"I'm hungry and thirsty. I want you to prepare it." Louis orders.

Helena immediately straightened her face with a surprised look, but the face of King Louis that should amaze her looked scary at that time.

"Okay… I'll prepare it, Your Majesty." Helena immediately complied and nodded quickly.

Meanwhile, Helena was preparing food and drink for the King, which had actually been prepared beforehand by the royal servants.

It turned out that Louis was secretly watching Helena from behind.

"It's true what Revania said if Helena is a smart young girl. But this woman is still young, even eight years younger than me. Oh… Revania, at first glance this woman looks like you. But still, she can't replace you." Louis thought.

Helena had already turned around, and she was carrying a long tray of hot drinks and soup for the King. With careful steps, she placed all of King Louis' food and drink on a small round table nearby.

"King Louis, you can enjoy your dinner tonight. Is there anything else you need?" Helena asked carefully.

"Yeah, there's something I need. I want you to eat it," Louis ordered firmly.

Helena was again confused with all of Louis' orders. This time she blinked her eyes and was still digesting all of Louis' words.

"What? I have to eat it, but… didn't you say that earlier…"

"Helena!" cut Louis firmly, and returned to give a sharp look in his eyes.

"Do you dare to disobey my orders, or are you afraid to eat it… is there something in the food and drink you prepared for me?" asked Louis with great suspicion on Helena's refusal attitude.

"Oh..?" Helena snorted in annoyance, and she made a stern face.

"I am not afraid at all, and I have put nothing in your food and drink, King Louis." Helena quickly took the soup spoon, and she was already intending to finish all of the king's dinner.

Luckily Helena made the right decision because she didn't do what Rima told her to do.

Medicine or white powder, which Helena herself did not know what it was. She had kept it well, in a secret place.

Louis began to pay attention to Helena. She ate it very voraciously and eagerly. But the suspicious gaze didn't leave, and still hoped something would happen after Helena finished her bowl of hot soup.

Helena just put down her soup spoon. Then she took a glass and drank warm water, which was rose tea which tasted sweet on her tongue.

"I've finished everything, King Majesty? Anything else you want to order me?" asked Helena, a little annoyed, and it seemed she was full that night.
