Unaware of their shared connection, Lillian is initially fearful of the Demon of the Underworld.

But soon, she finds herself drawn to her husband, like a moth to a flame while the darkly dangerous mafia lord cannot resist the irresistible charm of his wife. 

She is his light. He is her doom. 

What will happen to this complicated love? Can they overcome all obstacles and live a happy life? Or will their nightmares ruin their newfound happiness? 

“Let the game begin!” Lucas declared.

 “What will I get if I win?” Lillian demanded. He put a finger under her chin to make her meet his eyes.

Trials of Fire & Love

They walked towards a small temple situated on top of the hill. It was not a long walk but there were a lot of stairs so Lillian was panting a little.

"What's this temple for?" she asked as she followed Lucas. There were very few people around because not many people were aware of this place.

"This is just a local shrine the people made for a girl," he explained. "A long time ago, there was a girl who used to live with her mother in the foot of the hills. They lived far away from the village and were confined to their own world. Everyday, the mother would lock her daughter up in the house and not let her go out."

"Why?" Lillian asked. She was now curious. Why would someone do that?

"They said that the girl's mother was possessive," he replied. "Some people even thought that the girl was not her daughter and the mother had kidnapped her. Whatever the reason was, she lived here with her mother alone."

"But why did they build the shrine?"
