Chapter 45

“What are we working on?” Theo asked.

“This is the wheel of life,” she explained then pointed to each filled section. “Earth, air, fire, water.” Finally, she pointed to the empty one. “Spirit.”

“What is this for?” Theo asked curiously.

“This was once used for our oracle ancestors for divination.”

“Our ancestors?”

“Yes, the Seelie were not the only ones to have the power of divination,” Jenese chided him gently for his assumptions.

He shook his head in astonishment then gave her a little laugh. “No, I know that. I just can’t imagine our people agreeing on anything.”

Elder Jenese smiled in acknowledgment. “Oh, well some things are actually universal. The wheel is one of them. Everything has a soul, and everything is connected. This is just a tiny representation of that.”

Theo nodded in understanding, still processing what he was seeing. She pulled him out of his thoughts and pointed at the empty circle.

“Sit down and put a hand here,” she instructed.
