“I can’t guarantee that I will always want to hear your truth. But I promise I will always try to listen,” Neivayka swore.


He nodded. “That’s all I can ask.”


She squeezed his hand once more and stepped away. “I’ll let you get back to your book. It looks… riveting.”


“It is! It’s the complete history of the water tribe of the Anteris people! They are giant Ant people that once roamed the entire north, but now they are almost extinct. I hope once this is over, we’ll have a chance to go see them and learn more straight from their storytellers!” Pontius said excitedly.


“Yeah,” Neivayka said with forced enthusiasm. “We’ll have to consider that.”


He opened his mouth to continue with his explanation, but Neivayka raised her hand. “No, don’t tell me anymore. I want to be surprised if we manage to find them!”


Pontius thought on it for a moment, then nodded solemnly. “That’s a good idea.”
