Chapter 90

Weeks went by.

Or maybe it was just days Neivayka really couldn’t be sure.

She had settled into a rather mundane routine, all things considered. She would get up, take care of the trillis then work out before settling in for the night. Once the trillis felt better, the cat would go with her to either watch her or wander around the area. Though it did remain close more often than not.

It was during one of those stare-down sessions that she had dubbed the cat Nimbus. It really baffled her that the animals would never really have names, especially animals like Nimbus that could actually speak. Well, she didn’t speak as much as she grunted. But Neivayka was beginning to understand the grunts enough that she no longer felt that Nimbus was “just an animal”.

Nimbus’ fur had begun to grow back, and she found that it was a beautiful sunset orange. The only places that didn’t change were the spots of bronze that gave the fur the illusion of clouds on the sunset, hence the name Nimbus.
