The stunned silence was suddenly broken by Pontius’ whoop of excitement.


“Dang, Neivayka! That was amazing!! Where did you learn that?” he asked. “What else did you learn?”


“I’d like to know the answer to that myself,” Theo commented, giving her an odd look.


“I had some time while I waited for the diacaine to make their decision,” Neivayka answered with a careless shrug.


“That’s what they called themselves,” Neivayka answered.


“I thought they were just a myth,” Nesha responded.


Neivayka giggled. “There are a lot of things that should just be myths.”


“What else did they say?” Shantane probed.


Neivayka just shook her head, not because she didn’t remember, but rather, she didn’t feel anything was of use.


Instead of answering, Neivayka looked around the small group and realized what was missing.
