Chapter 3 : Love Evermore

The trees rustled in the breeze as the golden sun beamed on everything bringing it to life. Today was such a perfect day for outdoors. The college was buzzing with chatter and laughter. Today was the final games for them. Everywhere banners and flags hung supporting the guys football team. "Go Rhinos!" they had written all over. Isabel and her best friend Annie Robinson chatted excitedly as they walked down the halls.

It was also the last day and then into their summer break. Isabel's heart felt heavy she knew she would be leaving to go home, but here was where she belonged. Shaking of the uneasy feeling of what is to come she decided to focus on what Annie was talking about.

Annie knew something was bothering her friend but she didn't ask her because Isabel always brushed it aside as nothing important. So instead she chatted about plans for later in the evening. "Is Keron taking you out tonight?" Annie asked looking at Isabel. Her face lit up at the sound of the name, the guy whom she had given her heart to. "I am not sure," Isabel replied with a frown. She was suddenly aware how that sounded and it made her question herself.

Keron didn't mention anything to her but she knew he loved to surprise her.

"What about you and Jake Cobbler?" I asked, her friend was dating the handsome and daring quarter back. Annie blushed, "Yes we are going for dinner after the game tonight," she said shyly.

Her friend smiled in return. This was just the perfect love at eighteen. It was carefree and no worries, everyone was so in love and believed that this would be their ever after love.

Thinking back to when her relationship started, Isabel soaked in the memories. It was those precious memories that made everyday as magical as can be.

Keron was with the boys at Henry's Burger Shop when she caught his eyes. "Isabel!" called Gary, she turned and waved at him as she continued on her way to the dress store next door. Gary was her friend and next door neighbor. Little did she know that she had gotten an admirer in that moment.

Two days later her phone rang with an unfamiliar number showing up on her screen. While debating whether to answer or not, Annie grabbed it sliding the green button at the same time. Putting it on loud speaker she said hello and then a low but husky voice asked, "Is this Isabel?" Annie whispered lowly for me to answer him. Grudgingly I answered, "Yes this is her." Glaring at Annie all the while.

She giggled and bashed her eyelashes mocking me. I could have shaked every fiber of being in that moment. A moment later on that changed my life forever.

"Hi, the male voice continued, "I am Keron, Keron Mc Knight. Gary's friend, he gave me your number after seeing you walk by I could get your pretty face out of my head. I hope you don't mind," he said. I very much did mine and was so cross at Gary, I made a mental note to chew him out later but my manners got the better of me and I replied, "That's ok, it's always nice to have new friends I muttered."

Annie was hysterical, and I was livid at her and Gary. I didn't need a boyfriend or any romance in my life currently.

We spoke for a few more minutes and he said he would call me again if that's ok. "Sure," I replied with a smile, like he could see it I shook my head. He sounded really nice over the phone. How did I get the attention of one of the most coveted guy on campus. Popular guys were not my thing, I was a bookworm and nature lover to my heart. no guy wanted a girl like that.

Keron was so handsome and perfect in everyway possible. Why me. After hanging up Annie grabbed me by my shoulders and hugged me.

"You are the luckiest girl alive," she screamed in my ear. I truly did feel lucky but didn't want to show it before it ends in heartbreak.

That was the beginning of my romance with prince charming. Phone calls became date nights after class and taking walks in the park, even flowers being delivered on unexpected days. The romance was endless and the friendship blossomed into a strong bond which made us inseparable.

We were going out regularly. Gary was truly an awesome friend and so was Annie we all hung out together.

It was our one year anniversary when Keron told me he is taking me out to spend the day. After picking me up I asked, "Where are we going?" "You will soon see it," he replied smiling at me. His eyes filled shone as he he looked at me. Its like he saw my very soul.

My heart did somersaults. Everything was so perfect. I could live like this forever. I closed my eyes as I took in the fresh mountain air, enjoying the soft music in the background. No talking was required. We allowed our hearts to tune in to each other. This is what love was just enjoying each others company without words.

I felt a hand slid into mine, opening my eyes Keron was looking at me tenderly. I didn't realize the car had stop. "Come with me," he said. Taking his hands out of my grasp, he hurried to my side of the car and opened the door. The view was breath taking. It was the country side in London.

He returned to the car and brought a picnic basket and blanket to spread under the tree near us. As we sat down to enjoy our day he said , "I wanted to make this special for you Isabel Whittleson. You have made me the happiest guy from the moment I saw you. Will you be my love evermore?" he asked looking at me tenderly.

My heart pitter pattered. Never in my life did I dream of such fantasy and romance. This is how I imagined love to be. Someone who would love me for me. How could I say no to this handsome, charming guy. "Yes," I barely manage to whisper, my eyes filled up as he reached out and hugged me.

Turning my head to face him he placed his hand under my chin, tilting it upwards. "I love you Isabel now and forever," he said leaning in as he brushed his lips against mine. I felt alive with fire racing through my bones. I wrapped my arms around his neck kissing him back.

"I love you Keron Mc Knight," I said. My heart felt full.

Everything looked different around us. Love can be magical and that moment it was. As we ate and took in the gorgeous scenery we discussed our different lives and future. I knew I should tell him everything but I didn't want to spoil the moment.

"Earth to Isabel," Annie was waving frantically at me. The last class for the day was over and here I was day dreaming.

As evening drew near we prepared to go to the field. Isabel and Annie followed the others towards the bleachers. I wanted to get a seat in front to cheer my boyfriend. Keron blew a kiss from the field to me and I blushed. It was no secret that I was the envy of the girls especially the captain of the cheerleaders.

The whistle blew signalling the game was about to begin. Rhinos vs. Hawksbill was playing. The game was full of excitement with fouls and goals down to penalties. Rhinos won by one penalty. It was definitely the best victory to end the school term. The roar of excitement was deafening as I ran onto the field and hugged Keron. Yes this was my guy, my heartbeat as he kissed me in front of everyone.

I barely heard the catcalls and whistles. As Keron let me go I felt a pair of eyes piercing into my back, looking behind me I saw Emily Thomas staring at me. She couldn't dim the joy and pride I was feeling inside. I knew this is how I wanted life to be.

Love evermore.
