He grinned at her false bravado, her green eyes flickered and the golden shades of it were more intense, he saw determination, which he could use to his advantage.

Keira hesitated, where was she going to find a million dollars? With Sam's college fund and their welfare, those were out of the question. Their trust fund obtained from their deceased parents had been kept for emergencies only, it wasn't even close to half a million.

His grey eyes mocked her with a sardonic smile that left her stomach in knots. This was the most inconvenient time to think about how overpowering his steely eyes were or the fact that he was a very gorgeous and fascinating specimen.

     Logan was discharged early while Keira remained for at least another day for breathing exercises and a test. Winston checked her first lung when she inhaled and exhaled then the second.


"You are clear, I'll see you on Monday"


She shook her head thinking about the bill for overstaying. Win understood her plight and tapped on the notebook


He pointed to the door at Joanna and gave a curt smile, he signed her out personally to avoid stress and Lucius took care of her things.

"No need for that, it's on Logan's tab" She gave a silly evil grin. Joanna was wearing a thick coat with a woolen hat not looking less classy than she would at times.


"He flew back to San Diego, you know" She added while Lucius graciously opened the car door and Keira entered, hurriedly texting Sam to call off picking her up.


"Oh, well, good luck to him" Her throat clogged


Lucius passed them a sly grin from the driver's seat and maneuvered through traffic.


"You seem upset, isn't that what you wanted?"


"I'm sorry Mrs. Joanna, I need to make a stop"


 She said grimly and then paused at the trail in front of her store with the doors open, she exhaled and climbed out hurrying to move through them to see Melissa in a Mrs. Claus dress working at the counter.


"Hello, Miler's convenient, how may I serve you?"


   The interior looked bigger and she hunched at the lights in a contemporary lantern hanging above them, the counter had a scanner and a digital cash register, a machine that served chocolate, the kids were hounding Sam for a free toy which she passed out and a few teenagers were hanging about on their phones.


  The store still maintained its white background but was more glossy and there was a man dressed as Santa Claus with Darby on his thigh, she squinted her eyes at his blond hair sticking out.


"Shh" He put a hand to his mouth while listening to a kid asking for a Playstation.


"Miss, you are holding up the line," Melissa said to her casually and gestured to the shelves "You're free to explore, now if you need anything, you can ask Amy Claus to help you"


Keira explored the place, she heard a few negative comments about their relationship and how the Daniels were helping her out.


  She winced and hurried away from the spot they were talking and Amy passed her a globe.


"Would any one of you explain why it looks like Grand Opening in here?"


The teens usually didn't hang out long enough, she noticed the wire on the walls and snorted at the server hidden in the other room. Of course, WIFI


"Logan sure knows a thing or two about consumer psychology ay?" She said with a Dublin accent then winked and Keira shook the globe and passed her a dry look at the sand.


"That was an error but it's pretty unique, I'm going to mail this to him, that way it won't distract him"


She covered her lips, touched by their kindness and Amy gave her a little shake, Jenny was shamelessly y stuffing her face with fruitcake and Zoe gave her a look of disapproval all whole trying to hand out coupons.
