Chapter 137: What's There To Think About?

Addison had been thinking about everything her parents had said. It all made perfect sense. She needed someone who she could depend on, someone who wouldn't make a fool out of her when the time came. She needed someone predictable and responsible. Bryce hadn't shown her that he was any of those things. He couldn't even be serious when he'd met her parents. What kind of person did that?

"Hey, Addison," Dean said as he took a seat next to her in their English class on Monday. She'd avoided sitting in the back like she had before with Bryce. He always came in just in time, and she wasn't surprised that she had beat him there.

"Hey, Dean. How was your weekend?"

"It was pretty good. You?"

"My parents were in town."

"That must have been nice," he told her with a charming smile.

"Yeah, real nice."

"So, um, Addison, I was wondering-"

"You can just keep wondering," Bryce said, cutting Dean off, as he leaned in between them from behind.
