After physical therapy, Zach walked into the house and sat down to catch his breath before heading for the shower. The pain in his shoulder caused him to grimace. He clasped his right hand onto his wrist to move his left arm into a comfortable position, then popped three ibuprofens into his mouth, and slugged them back with water.
He'd had a challenging workout today, and despite the discomfort he felt, it was vital for him to push forward if he was ever going to gain full mobility, enough to get him back to work. Staying home was driving him crazy. The only good part about being home was he would be working with the wedding planner and being there for Jessie.
His thoughts briefly reflected on the day he'd gotten shot -- the day that put him in this predicament. Regardless of how it turned out, his priority was saving lives because it was more important than protocol.
