Mr. Drop-dead Gorgeous

Night shifts were always busy but today, Buck's restaurant was busier than usual, supernatural and human alike, that could be that its a Friday and everyone goes out.

"Anita, table four's order is ready."

"Thanks Wilfred." I took the order from the window and walked out towards my waiting table. "Okay, here's your Big Bill Burger with onions and a side of fries, and your bottomless coke. And for you sir, your steak supreme, mushroom sauce with a side of chips and a your beer. Enjoy your meal." I gave them a sweet smile before going back to check on my next order.

"You know they were checking you out, right?" I scoffed "Those guys, highly doubt it," I said as I placed down a tray of empty glasses by the bar "They are practically drooling and you don't even notice it," Rodney pointed out as he started wiping them down.

"They were drooling over the food," I corrected him, letting him know to drop the idea of me having any romance in my life. I don't need that, I'm happily single.

"I'm just saying Love, if I wasn't in the family-zone I'd definitely ask you out," he added while shooting me a wink and I merely rolled my eyes. Rodney and I were as close to family as anyone can get, we both met at an orphanage. My entire life was burned down at the age of seven and Rodney, well he was pretty much dumped on the doorstep when his family didn't want him at the age of ten.

I pretty much cried all the time even in my sleep, non of the kids there wanted to hangout with me. Can you blame them? I had lost everything and I was all alone, and I developed a slight trauma towards fire. Then Rodney showed up; with a group of girls following closely behind him, they obviously were telling him to leave me alone but he didn't listen, instead he sat down next to me and pulled me into a hug.

Completely took me off-guard and I proceeded to ruin his shirt with my snot and tears. I didn't know that I could cry as hard as I did or how much I needed a hug but he did, and since then I was glued to him like gum on a shoe. The other kids stayed away from both of us and that didn't bother Rodney the slightest, he took care of me like I was his own little sister and deep down I was happy to have a brother.

The little door bell wrung letting me know a customer had just walked in "You should be doing office work not wiping glasses, you're a manager," I said walking away to attend to the next customers.

I was walking towards the kitchen to place the order when one of the waitress; Julia, came rushing towards me like someone who had some juicy gossip to share.

"Someone has a secret admirer.~"

"What?"

She nods her head towards the window tables and says "He's been there for a while now watching you," she adds amused with herself. Against my better judgment, I glanced over towards the window tables and my eyes make contact with the very last person I thought I wasn't going to see.

"Shit," I mutter and quickly looked away, using the menu's in my hand as a cover to hide my face, I grabbed her wrist and walked as fast as possible towards the kitchen.

"Do you know him?" she asked not hiding her excitement and peeked through the small window "and he's still looking," she singsonged, I took a peek myself to see if she was right and my eyes immediately locked with his and dropped down, covering my face with the menu's while I string a flurry of cuss words.

"What's wrong with her?" One of the waitress's asks and Julia responded excitedly "Mr. Drop-dead gorgeous has been eyeing Anita for a while now and has only ordered water, I wish he could drink me."

"Oh my gosh Julia." The other waitress didn't sound grossed out at all, it was more like she was encouraging the lustful behavior meanwhile I was grossed out by it.

Plus, if they knew he was a supernatural who drinks more than just water they wouldn't be talking like that.

"Anita, you should go take his order. I want to know how he smells like," Julia drooled and without thinking I opened my mouth and responded "He smells like spicy cinnamon."

I immediately regretted the moment those words left my mouth, the two waitress's eyes widen as they looked at me and than at him than right back at me, I could see a lightbulb go off in their heads and I immediately knew what they were thinking.

"Oh my gosh, ew get your heads out of the gutter. I bumped into him this morning so I caught the sent of his cologne," I quickly explained, walking away from them to clip in the order "Hey Wilfred, I need one cocktail shrimp and a deluxe burger with chips!"

"On it!"

"You sure there is nothing going on with you two?" Julia asks smirking as she eyed me "Yes there is nothing going on between me and him." Absolutely nothing, doesn't matter what a vision says, him and I aren't destined to be together like the universe intended.

"Okay, than take his order," Gina dared and before I could respond the kitchen doors swing open as one of the male waitress: Devón, came bustling in looking flushed.

We didn't have to ask what was wrong before he started rolling "Okay, tell me you guys saw the absolute chocolate daddy sitting by the window. Oh, I'd love me a piece of that."

"Oh not you too," I sighed.

Gina and Julia joined in on Devón's man crush, gushing in delight. Meanwhile, I stood there watching these three humans and thinking how easily I could derail this fan club, than again that just might excite them more.

"Oh my gosh, get this Mr. Hunk has been giving Anita the look," Julia told Devón and he looked like he heard the most juiciest story and responded "Shut up."

"It gets even better, tell him Julia." Gina didn't even have to tell Julia, she didn't have to tell her as she was already spilling the beans "-and they've met before, she even knows how he smells, that's how close they are," Julia squealed in excitement.

Devón was fanning his face "You have to be the luckiest girl to get two hotties in your corner. Oh, you should go take his order."

"Gina said the same thing!"

"Shut up! Than what are you doing here, go out there and get your man some food." I barely got the chance to correct him when he was pushing me out the doors, I turned on my heel the moment he stopped pushing but they had blocked my exit. Devón indicated for me to go while his backup crew manned the door.

I looked back to see him texting on his phone which meant he didn't see me. I looked around to see if could find any other table that needed to be waited but there were non. I swear the universe or Fate, or whatever forces out there is just making this too obvious that I can't help but laugh at myself.

You know what, screw this. I'm not going to let some vision rule over my life or any other forces for that matter, I can date whoever I want. Time to prove Fate wrong.

With a new found determination and slight nerves, I walked over to his table and said my opening lines "Evening, welcome to Anita's. My name is Buck-" Fuck! End me, now "-I mean I'm Anita and welcome to Buck's, not that the restaurant is named after me cause that would be weird for the owner serving customers but I'm not the owner so I'll be your waitress tonight."

"Well not specifically your waitress, I mean as in I'll be in charge of bringing you your food, sorry let me rephrase that; what can I get you?" I kept my eyes down on my notepad, too embarrassed to look up.

He's laugh was care-free and contagious, it made my heartbeat fast and filled my stomach with butterflies "Forgive me for laughing, I was just not expecting that-" Neither did I "It's nice to meet you Anita, I'm Chaviv and I'll be your customer tonight," he said with equal amusement and placed his head onto his hand as he looked at me like I was the most interesting person in the world.

I'd be lying if I said that didn't make my palms sweat and make me shift slightly in my spot. I need to focus, this is unprofessional behavior. I just need to treat him like another customer not only that I could feel nine pair of eyes on the back of my neck.

"Tonight's special is a classic beef lasagna, and our pasta is freshly made. We also have the classic chicken soup that's sure to make you feel right at home."

He browsed through the menu and I'm not sure if it was just my imagination but it felt like time had slowed down. "I'll have beef lasagna with cream soda," he finally said closing the menu and smiling at me "Of course sir, anything else?" I asked while writing his order, glad that this was nearly over. He rubs his hand over his face as he considers what to say.

"What would you recommend for dessert?" he says while looking at me like he was asking if I was an available option. I push my thoughts aside, whatever it is I think he's doing; he's not, it's all in my head and I need to focus.

I leaned down and I was met with a scent full of spicy cinnamon cologne, I do my best not to react and push all my focus on doing my job. "The malva pudding is one of our best sellers, including the lemon pie but if you're more of a chocolate person the chocolate cake is..." I trail off when my eyes meet his "For you." This was the first time I was this close to see how dark his eyes were but they somehow seemed as if they are shining, like a million stars in the dark night sky and they drew me in.

My eyes involuntary traveled down to his lips, I could feel the sensation of were those lips had kissed, the moment I wondered if they felt as soft as they did in the vision, I knew it was time for me to leave. I quickly stood straight to put some distance between us and cleared my throat, hoping he had not noticed me eyeing his lips.

"I'll have the chocolate cake then." He closed the menu and handed it to me, I wrote down his order and took the menu "Coming right up," I smiled and walked as quick as I could back to the kitchen. The three musketeers were eagerly waiting and I knew I was going to be attacked with a flurry of questions.

"And, did he smell like spicy cinnamon like you said?" Julia asked "Yes," I responded with as much disinterest in my tone as I could muster "And his eyes, are they dark and alluring" Gina followed closely behind "Tell me about his lips, they looked kissable right?" Devón fanned his face as if he was going to pass out from over-heating. I merely shrugged "They were alright," I told them, these questions felt like they knew what I was thinking and where a little on the mark.

I placed his order before getting the previous customers order. They looked at each other, obviously not believing a word I said and Devón was the voice of the group "Your telling me you weren't melting inside, especially the way he was looking at you?"

"I don't know what else to tell you guys, I just don't see what you guys are going boy crazy over. He looks like any normal guy," I shrugged and walked out the kitchen, I could see the suspicion in their eyes and I was certain they didn't believe me.

And, they are right not to, I've been close with customers before and I've had a few of them who were just as equally 'hot' but I never reacted to them like how I'm reacting to him. I'm probably reacting to him like this because of the vision and its messing with my head, I'm certain that if I didn't have that vision I'd have reacted differently and only see him as just another bad boy looking for a one time thing and nothing serious.

I carried on like it was business as usual, despite that fact that I could feel his eyes on me the entire time, even when I gave him his meal. Eventually, Rodney came out of his office when he had heard some of the waiters were fanning over Chaviv.

It also sunked in that I knew his name and how they would flip if they ever knew that he told me his name that I didn't ask for.

It was now closing time, and we were clearing up the tables and putting up the chairs "I heard you served one of the customers the staff is fanning over," Rodney says sounding disinterested as he placed one of the chairs up, even though he didn't really have to, he has a staff to do that "Jealousy isn't a good look on you, Love," I smirked, patting his shoulder.

He scoffed and rolled his eyes "I'm not jealous, I'm just trying to find out if you were stumbling all over him like you usually do."

"I don't stumble."

"Sure, whatever you say Love," he shrugged not believing me. I narrowed my eyes at him "He is just like every other guy, nothing special."

"So, is that why you didn't tell me you already met him?"

"Is that why your interested, because you heard I had already met him?" I questioned.

"Julia said it looked like there was more going on between you two," he added, of course those three musketeers told him "Okay, you do know Julia makes anything sound like there's more going on. Even when she talks about you, she makes it sound like there's more than employer and employee relationship," I pointed out.

"But, I get the feeling your not asking cause I didn't tell you," I added.

"No, I'm asking cause your message earlier wasn't sitting well with me. And the way he looked at you suggested otherwise," he said watching me closely for my reaction "I think you're reading too much into it and more importantly when did you see me?" I questioned, knowing that Julia, Gina and Devón where the only three who saw the whole thing.

"Am I? Cause I think you messaged me cause you wanted to talk about that new trick of yours," he continued as if he didn't hear what I said "Can we talk about it tomorrow, I'm pretty tired and I need to start packing," I said hoping he'll drop the subject cause this isn't exactly the ideal place to talk about something like this.

"If you're worried about someone walking in they won't. Everyone has gone home, so its just us two," he said letting me know that there's no way of avoiding the conversation.

"Who said I'm worried about that, I'm just saying there's always tomorrow," I pointed out but he wasn't letting up "Did you have another vision?" That momentarily pause was all he needed to confirm his suspicions.

"Jesus Anita, why didn't you just tell me?" he sighed "Cause I didn't want you to worry more than you already are, okay," I explained and he scoffed "And not telling me wasn't going to make me worry, does he know?" he asked note hiding his clear irritation of my decision.

"No, he doesn't know and like I said before, we only just met. Look, can we please talk about this tomorrow, I just don't have the energy to get into it," I begged.

He knew I was trying to avoid the topic and gave in. He pushed off the table and closed the distance between us, holding my hands into his "I won't push, for now," he quickly added seeing me relaxing in relief "But, you have to promise me that you won't hide anything from me. I get this is a lot for you but I want you to know you don't have to go through this alone," Rodney said as he looked at me with the love and care an older brother would have for his sister and my heart tightened.

"I know, and I'm sorry. I just...you looked really worried this morning and I didn't want you to worry anymore but I guess I did the very thing I was trying to avoid. It's sweet that you worry about me," I said and gently punched him in his chest.

"Of course, love, you're my little sister," he said pulling me into a tight than planted a big slimy kiss on my cheek "Ew, that's so gross," I cried out while wiping his slimy kiss off my cheek, his lips quirked up into a mischievous grin.

"Rodney, no." He licked his lips, covering it in extra saliva and went in to place another disgusting slimy kiss "Rodney no, get those slimy lips away from me," I cried out as I pushed his head away from me while he made kissing noises "Aw come on, don't you want a innocent kiss from you big bro," he says in that baby voice of his.

"I swear you plant those lips on me I'll shove poison ivy where the sun don't shine," I warned him, that immediately got him to stop and let go of me.

"You could have just asked me to stop, so violent," he says sounding shocked; like it was the first time I threatened him, I rolled my eyes and smacked him with the towel.

"Lock up so we can go home," I called out as I headed towards the workers locker to grab my bag.
