Getting hooked to the music contest.

Walking out of the graveyard, he began strolling without any direction in mind. He just felt like strolling for some time, while strolling, his mind wandered in thoughts. He sauntered until he arrived at a chair at the side of an alley, he needed to strategize something, so he took off the backpack from his back, placed it on the chair, and sat down.

He began thinking about how he was gonna take revenge on Uncle Fred, or best put, on how to kill him. He wanted to destroy Uncle Fred's life bringing him to a nobody, then he'll take his life. He wanted him to die a very slow and painful death. And his family wouldn't go scot-free either, his wife and daughter would join him in the grave also.

He had a daughter that was the same age as James before his death, she was 13 years old. James' dad was Uncle Fred's older brother, the age gap wasn't much though...just two years gap. They weren't the type of brothers that stayed away from each other, they do chat and gist together whenever they had the chance.

But there was a time James heard them arguing seriously when he was in his room, and according to what he heard, their argument was about money. He heard stuff like splitting an amount of money worth thousands of dollars into half, one for Uncle Fred and one for his dad. But they never stopped arguing about it, they kept on yelling at each other at the top of their voice.

And according to what he heard from the argument once again, Uncle Fred was the one with the money. So, most likely, he decided that he was gonna have the money to himself all alone, the greedy thought kept on growing in his mind until he decided that he was gonna kill his brother and his family. Well, he wasn't gonna go scot-free.

James sat there as he kept on thinking about different ways to kill Uncle Fred, but he couldn't come up with something tangible yet...you know, he wanted him to die that slow and painful death. But before killing him, he wanted to ruin his life first, he wanted to make him worst than a beggar, he wanted to make him a pauper.

He couldn't just decide on something yet, so he decided that he should head over to Uncle Fred's house...at least, he wanted to see how his uncle was faring. He stood up from the chair, placed the backpack on his back, and began sauntering. At this moment, he didn't feel like taking a taxi that would drive him straight to Uncle Fred's house. He didn't want to make things easier...he felt like trekking.

He was a bit familiar with this alley, but it wasn't enough to make his trek from where he was down to his Uncle's house without receiving direction from someone. So as he strolled, he asked people for direction, then sauntered once again, then ask people for direction until he arrived at an alley he was familiar with. Now, he needed no direction from anyone anymore.

The main aim was to get to Uncle Fred's house right now, they wouldn't recognize him 'cause he was in another body. While strolling, something caught his attention, yeah, a nice melody. He was hearing very beautiful music, but he didn't know where it was coming from. A very nice feminine voice was singing and her voice was backed up by the sounds of guitar strings and piano.

He loved music, and what he was hearing now was way better than the type of music he does listen to. He was versatile, he listens to different kinds and genres of music, as far as it was pleasant to his ears and he liked it. And the one he was hearing now was really pleasant to his ears, he over liked it.

He was still glancing around to know where the melodious song was coming from. Some people walking in the streets didn't care about the song, they didn't even stop for a second to find out where it was coming from. While some stopped to glance around also, the ones that the song caught their attention.

He was still glancing around when he noticed some people entering an orange building, seems like that's where the music was coming from. He began sauntering towards the building, and as he got closer, the music became louder, surely, this was where the music was coming from.

People were entering, so he entered too, he was expecting to see the girl singing when he entered the building, but he saw nothing. People were mounting the staircase in the building, so he began mounting the staircase also. As he climbed, the music became louder, he ascended until he arrived at the second floor...and behold, a large crowd.

The second floor was so spacious enough to contain a large number of people, he could tell from glancing at the building. From what he was seeing, he could tell that this was a music contest, it was boldly written on a banner and plastered to the wall of the building. Lights were radiating across the compartment.

People's eyes were glued to what they were watching, the girl was still singing, but James couldn't even take a proper look at her 'cause of the crowd. He only caught a glimpse of her flowing green gown, he wanted to see more, he wanted to watch the contest more vividly, so he began forcing himself through the crowd. Luckily, people made way for him as he forced himself to the front. Now, he could take a better view of the contest.

The contest doesn't seem like it was well planned, it seemed like the kind of contest they announced two days to when it would take place. So people that were interested in it started making themselves available. Just so you know, money was involved, the winner of the contest was gonna receive a certain amount of money. And the building was wide open for anyone interested in watching the contest...no need for tickets or other stuff like that.

James knew that he was gonna spend a lot of time here, he loved anything concerning music. The contestants that were gonna participate in the contest were many...the contest was gonna take a long time to finish. The young girl finished singing as the crowds couldn't help but clap their hands...she was such a talented singer. The young girl bowed with a smile on her face as she walked out of the mini stage.

'Would I ever be able to sing like that?'. James thought to himself.

The next contestant that came on stage was a male, he was dressed in all black. Black t-shirt, black jean trousers, and black canvas. He held the microphone in his hand as he signaled the DJ to play the beat, the beats they were to use had already been prepared ahead of time. The DJ played the beat as the guy began singing immediately, and men, he's got a nice voice.

James listened to the guy's vocals closely, he was trying to learn from it. He loved music, and he wanted to become an artiste in the future, but he wasn't that good at singing. So he listened to the way the guy controlled his vocals and his singing tone, where he raised his voice and where he kept it low...he followed through closely. The guy was good at singing, but the girl that sang before him was better.

The guy climaxed with his singing, and just like the girl, he received a round of applause from the crowd. The guy smiled and went off stage. And that's how it kept going, different contestants kept coming on stage to perform, males and females. It took about 5 hours for all contestants to finish performing in addition to the other events that took place, it was evening already...but it wasn't boring to watch.

James watched all the performances to their end, he couldn't leave, how could he leave an event that's related to music? After all the contestants were done performing, a man in suit appeared, and the moment he set eyes on the crowd, he said,

"Wow! are they this many? Wasn't it just 12 people that were in here at the beginning of this contest? Well, that's nice stuff, that shows that you guys were attracted to this contest. Just so you guys know, we'll need your voting for a winner to emerge. Vote for the contestants that you enjoyed their performances more. You gonna vote using your phones,

Certain numbers would be plastered on each of the contestants' bodies when next they come out. So you gonna send 462 to the numbers you'll see on their body to vote. Please, corporate with us guys".

After making that statement, he called the whole contestants to come on stage.
