"Ha… Ha," Adonis panted as he gazed upon the scenery he had painted.
He had not stopped until he killed them all. And before he knew it they were all dead. Their bodies spanned all around him. It was truly a hellish scene. Had Tarataros witnessed this, he would surely have given Adonis a thumbs up. He was the God of Hell after all.
It was only after Adonis had ensured both his and Miya's safety that he caught onto his breath.
"Finally…"
Finally, he had taken his revenge. It was his first step but he knew that it was going to go a long way. There were many Gods he had yet to take his revenge on. This was but like a tutorial for him.
*swish*
He put away his blade into his scabbard.
"Adonis!"
Miya ran up to him worried about his well being. Adonis hadn't even realized when his body was falling over out of weakness. His legs had grown numb and so did his hands which no longer had any grip.
But Miya made sure to catch onto him.
"Thanks, Miya," he whispered, feeling onto the sudden bump as he ended up in Miya's arms. That was when he realized how weak his body had got after his adrenaline levels fell...
"Stupid! Stupid! Why would you do that?" Miya cried.
She was worried about Adonis a tad too much. She was yet able to properly perceive the situation they were in. She didn't know the true might of the Gods. Adonis could only be called lucky to only get away with his injuries. Only death awaits him.
Adonis smiled as he reacted to Miya's cute reactions. He couldn't get enough of her. But the weakness that he felt caused his smile to faint.
"I… am… fine," Adonis was never used to fighting like this. It was his first time. It was a burst of adrenaline that had caused it. But as he felt his adrenaline subsiding he could feel the strength leaving his body.
"I just need a minute," Adonis claimed.
A Demi God's body was fast to heal. Indeed that was something that kept them ahead of any other species. Adonis believed that his body too would do the wonders.
But did Miya knew any of that? He knew just of one thing. That Adonis was exhausted beyond repair. Miya rolled Adonis's arms around her shoulders as she helped him move around. That was all she could do for him. She was concerned about his safety.
With exhausted and lumpy legs both of them walked. There was nothing that she could do to help Adonis other than this.
It was then…
"Wait!" A feminine voice called out to them. There was an ordering edge to the voice as if she would accept nothing else.
Miya flinched. Did one of the witches escape alive? If that was the case she just had to kill her just like Adonis did. That was the least she could do.
Miya gripped onto her weapon as she gritted her teeth.
She turned around. Adonis wanted to forbid her from doing so but he lacked the strength to aid him for the words to leave his mouth. He watched as Miya made her independent decision.
But what she saw next made her eyes shoot out wide.
"That can't be…"
It was like a nightmare to the current her. All the dead bodies that were scattered around the woods were now coming closer as they wriggled and twisted taking weird tentacle like forms.
They should have all died. She had killed many herself! No one can be alive after losing so much blood! Or that was what she thought.
They should be dead forever, never to move again. Their souls should have left their bodies and went under the jurisdiction of Thanatos. Yet what was happening now?
"Adonis?" Miya turned towards Adonis, having question marks on her face. But Adonis was equally confused. His jaws had slacked open as his eyes almost threatened to pop out.
Never before had they seen anything like this.
The bodies were coming closer and closer. Adonis had no idea what to do but alarms were ringing in his head.
"Miya Run!" He screamed. His eyes reddened with fear and frustration. He had just escaped from one anomaly. His body refused to move let alone fight. And now this? Were they going to die here today?
All they could do was run.
But a voice forbade them to.
"No, don't… I mean no harm." Said a mysterious voice resounding through the woods. The event had left both Miya and Adonis even more confused.
The bodies quickened their pace as they moved around. It was as if they wanted to accumulate together before Adonis and Miya had even the chance to escape.
They accumulated at a single place as they merged with each other creating a black mesh. How red flesh had turned to black? Miya had no idea. She could only stare in awe and fright.
Miya didn't feel as nauseated as she was feeling before. The black mesh didn't seem as scary as the dead bodies of the witches. In fact, she felt a strange sense of attraction towards the mesh.
The mesh grew larger and larger as it took the form of a human. Little by little ears, eyes, hair, hands, and legs began to take form. A miracle? An illusion? They had no idea what they were experiencing.
"Miya! What are you doing? Run!" Adonis screamed his lungs out...
