The Sanctuary
I was still trembling while sitting at the most corner of the cafeteria's table. Everyone who choosed to stay at the school's dorm were here, happily eating with their friends. And, here I am, trembling and paranoid!
"Are you okay?" In a snap, I saw Zarviel's concerned eyes looking at me. I swallowed hard as I felt all the sweat dropping down from all over my body! It was indeed intense, and shivery!
I nodded at her, and grazed my vision at the bushes that was enveloped by the darkness. I looked upward where I saw someone at the tree trunk, then almost faint when a black cat dropped from the tree! Damn it!
"Alice! Alice! Look at me! Look at me!" I could hear Zarviel's voice, almost screaming in panick while she was shaking my shoulders, yet I was still mindless!
I felt a slight pang at my right cheek. Second passed, I felt a burning sensation of its sting. That made me took off from my reverie!
"Common, lets go inside the cafeteria. It's getting cold here. Why did you stopped walking, by the way?" She asked while she was guiding me. I looked at her confusingly. It was her who suddenly stopped first. She then looked at me, innocently.
"It was you who stopped walking first, Zarviel. " I replied, confused yet nervous at the same time. Her brows knitted and shooked her head.
"Me? I didn't stopped walking, Alice. I was near the cafeteria's entrance when I saw you, standing there mindlessly." She replied. That made me more confused.
"It was you, Zarviel." I said with a sharp tone. Her forehead creased more as if I was spewing nonsense and definitely urging and telling her that it was her!
She frowned at me and brushed her her. She shook her head at me.
"What are talking about, Alice?" She implied with an annoyed voice. Despite her annoyance, Its tone was still soft and angelic far from what I have witness... or I must say far from what I have been hallucinated.
"You. You stopped near the big tree. Then, suddenly your aura changed. You somewhat like an alpha." I said surely and with conviction. She went silent. She shook her head again.
"Are you that not fond of me for making such an accusations, Alice?" She implied that made me speechless. She lowered her head. I could sense her disappointment when I didn't respond.
"I-Its not like that, Zarviel." I said, almost a whiper. I didn't mean what she have meant! I am not fond of her, yes! But I won't be that low to make such an allegations to get rid of her! I would never do that to everyone! I wanted to tell her that things, yet my mouth were still closed.
My body wouldn't cooperate with what I was thinking! Even, constructing my words are so hard to weave! Fvck! What's happening!?
She stood up and was about to walk away. I badly want to stop her yet all I can afford to do is to watch her slowly walking away. She immediately went out of the cafeteria. I badly want to talk but, I feel like my body drained out of all the energy!
I sighed and stood up. I was mindlessly walking when a male's voice hovered at my back. I am at the back of the school campus, where there were man-made lagoon and bleachers. The light was a bit shady. The whole place was illuminated by yellow light produced by the yellow bulbs that now illuminating this whole place. Mostly, couple do stay here for theur breaks cause its kinda relaxing and silent. Also, its for people who wants silence.
"Are you meeting someone here?"
"Huh?" I instantly uttered in surprised.
"Waiting for someone?" The owner of the voice was the newly transferred guy. He walked towards my direction and sat down infront of me. A cemented sphere-shaped table was in between us.
"I am not." I replied and just stared at the man-made lagoon. I could see my reflection in there. Pale skin, round eyes, and pinkish lips. I am a beauty, not until I choose to ripped who I was and unconsciously embraced their taunting words of addressing me.
"So, what are you doing here?" He asked again.
"I need to think. I need silence, so shut the fvck up." I rudely replied. I was conscious with my words right now. He chuckled but still he obliged.
I sighed heavily while still looking at my reflection. That was then, I noticed my eyes. Too dull, too shady, and unfathomable, like an abbys. It was the usual color black eyeballs, yet the moment I looked at others people's eyes, something would hit differently. The sudden pang always reminds me that maybe, I am not one of them. Those sudden changes with my physical reaction made me doubtful of who am I. Or, I must say, what am I.
I sadly smiled at myself. Above my head, I could see the refelction of the moon, like it was peeking to what is my expression. Then, I looked upwards and smiled bitterly again. How cruel life could be.
"What happened? You seems carrying the whole world with your small shoulder." He spoke gently as he could. There were some soothing effect his boice were giving, the vibes seems nostalgic yet anchored with peace assurance. I don't know what does this means, but for now, his voice gives me the soothing effect, my heart always flutters even if its just the second time we interact.
"I told you to shut up, didn't I?" I reponded instead.
"Well, I can't live with silence." He replied. Unconsciously, I rolled my eyes at him. I heard him uttered 'ow' while pointing his index finger at me.
"Ow! Wow! You look good rolling your eyes."
"Will you stop mouthing nonsense?" I annoyingly responded as I felt my cheeks burning! I looked away.
"Wow! I thought you're always emotionless. Wow! I'm enthralled!" He shot back while holding his chest. He gasped for air exxageratedly while I was feeling his stare. His... somewhat melancholic stare.
"Stop looking at me!"
"Are you blushing!?"
"Why would I!?"
"You sure. Nah! Let me see your face. Common!" He challenged. I shook my head while almost embracing the cemented sphere-shaped table. I would never do that!
"Shut up!"
"You're blushing."
"You're annoying."
"So, you are?"
"You didn't even gave me butterflies, Mr. Transferee. I ain't your someone to play when your bored." I replied sharply. Though, I didn't mean those. I mean, I meant those line that he didn't gave me butterflies, cause truly I wasn't feeling any stupid butterflies inside my tummy rather than I felt the tingling feeling and a little pang that unusually meant pain yet it gave me pleasure and delightment.
"So, you don't know my name?" He uttered again.
"Shoul I?" I responded sarcastically.
"Well, you should 'cause you know, I know your name."
"Huh? Why?"
"Because," he trailed off, leaving his words hanging while looking at nowhere. Instantly, his eyes twinkled while probably remembering something.
"Because what?" I impatiently added.
"Just because." He said in period that made me look at his shoulder unbelievably. The hell?! Is that even a reason? I mean, does it give sense to someone who's asking for a reason? A good reason!
"Wow. Dont you know your reason is illogical?" I sarcastically said while smiling in pure sarcasm at him. He shook his head.
"Curious, aren't we?" He said yet there was a taunting shade hiding in his words. I almost frowned. Thank Goddess, I halted my almost action. Damn!
"Of course. Afterall, we're taking about how did yiu get my name, 'Mr. Transferee'. I quoted in the air the last two words. His laughter roared. Like, he was so pleased and enjoying.
"Wow. What a witty."
"Stop saying 'wow' will you? Haven't you met any woman who talked to you like this?" I annoyingly spatted.
"There was only one though." He said, and now his melancholic voice were very visible.
"Then, why do keep on saying 'wow' like your just an newbie?"
"Because, You're the second one."
"Does it seems special to you that you keep on adding extras and add leaves and such to your every line?"
"Wow. Hot tempered, eh?"
"Wow. Annoying eh?" I imitated his way of talking that gained a roar of laughter from him.
"Wow! You're impressive!" He remarked. I rolled my eyes at him.
I choose not to respond and just turned my attention at the sky. There were no stars that can be seen, onky the moon gives light. A romantic and nostalgic light.
"She's a Goddess, indeed." I uttered while admiring and still in awed looking at the moon. The superior. Demour yet powerful. The fate maker.
"I wish I could meet her." I added while my gaze was still glued at the most beautiful creation I've saw. And, I will be forever be in awe, forever be admiring her. Forever be wishing to meet her.
"Who?" The man inquired. I smiled and pointed the moon. I extended my palm and act like I was holding it. Instantly, I felt the most beautiful and indescribable feeling, only I could tell.
"The Moon Goddess. " I replied.
