The tale of broken men II Part III

There was a moment of silence before the whole world around me shook as the pale dragon gained some color; its scales turned snow-white, and its eyes pale green.

“I…I feel…” It said with an older version of Yin’s voice. It gazed at its claws with wonder. “I am…alive?”

“Marduk!” I called its name, and the dragon turned to me with a curious expression. It was a mixture of wonder, reluctance, and awe.

“Shixian…?” It tasted my name on its lips, like a child that speaks for the first time. “Yes, you are her, but also not. Who are you?”

“Does it matter right now? Shouldn’t we be trying to heal Mu?”

The dragon turned from me to stare at the colorless body of its master, then nodded.

“We should. But I’m still not strong enough.” It hesitated before added, “I might never be.” Then, before I could berate him to say anything else, it added, “I hurt him bad, and then hurt him further by locking his memories…I don’t think he will ever forgive me.”
