Chapter 61

I walked to the bathroom, I kept looking at the opal. It was gorgeous. I couldn't believe it, it was so beautiful. I had always wanted a necklace or piece of jewelry with an opal on it.

I stood in front of the mirror and swept my braid to the side so I could clasp it. I hadn't wanted Raph to do it because if he touched my neck I knew that I would react. And I was afraid that would tempt him. And that wasn't fair to him.

I was trying to act like it hadn't happened, but I was still worried about him.

"You look beautiful." Raph's voice brought me out of my thoughts. I looked up at his reflection in the mirror and bit the inside of my lip. "Thank you." I said with a smile.

We both turned our heads to the door when we heard a knock. I followed Raph out, and to the door. He opened it, "Uh, the front gate called and told us that there was someone asking for Brooke, or Raphael." Duma said, immediately.

I stayed quiet and looked at Raph, he seemed to be thinking, then his face looked calm, "Thanks." He shut the door and walked to where his phone was.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Your brother most likely." He said as he dialled a number.

"Hey, Seth. Yeah, it's me Raph. Does the guy, yes I know he's human, does he have a van full of stuff? Good, alright send him in."

I pursed my lips, waiting for him to say something, he seemed really distracted today.

"So?" I asked.

"Huh? Oh, yeah. Your brother's on his way."

"Brad?!" I ran down the stairs and opened the door. I could see the red Toyota Sienna driving through the winding roads. I could tell the guards were confused they mind linked each other and asked what they should do.

I ran to their booth and told them that they could open it. After winding myself from running I climbed into the van and Brad drove the shirt distance to Raph's house.

He got out of the van, I followed, "So, this is where you've been living? Nice." He took off his sunglasses and smiled revealing his dimples. My brother certainly was a stunner.

"Hey, Brad how've you been?" I asked.

He laughed, "Hi."

-Raph remember Brad can't see Duma, because of his eyes.-

-Right.-

-Come see Brad.- I said.

-One sec.-

"Where's Raph?" Brad asked, suspicion written in his face.

"He's inside, he'll be down in a sec." I said repeating Raph's words.

I sensed him coming closer, along with Mark and Nathan.

"Hey, Bradley! How was the drive up?" Raph asked enthusiastically.

"Fine." Brad said stiffly. I rolled my eyes at these males.

"Alright boys, grab a box or bag and bring it to the room." I avoided saying my room, or Raph's room, and our room. Bradley would see what's up. He eyed me carefully then turned and opened the back of the van.

After all my things were unloaded Brad began saying goodbye.

"What're you talking about? You're staying the night." -Right.- I asked Raph, just to make sure.

-Yeah, he can stay the night.- Raph said, he didn't guard his thoughts or feelings. I could feel his distractedness and a feeling of impatience. 'Was it with Brad?' I wondered.

"Come on, follow me." I said to Brad, chipperly.

I showed him to his room and he sat down on his bed and pulled out his phone.

"What're you doing?" I asked dumbfounded.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" He asked cheekily.

I twisted my lips in annoyance.

"You are not going to play on you're phone the entire time that you're here! You are going to socialize." I told him. He glanced up from his phone, "Why?"

I gasped at him then set my lips in a hard expression, "Because," I sighed, "They have Halo: The Master Chief Collection."

"Yeah, so do I." He said as he tapped rapidly on his phone. I walked towards the bed and grabbed a pillow and hit him with it, "Play with them!" I said through gritted teeth.

He blocked the pillow with his arm, "Woah, fine." He said in a mocking tone.

"Fine." I said as I walked out. I sighed over dramatically as I made my way to the stairs.

Boys.

It was the third time that I'd called dinner, comprised of KraftDinner with taco seasoning and wieners. I really hated repeating myself. So instead of wearing my voice out I marched to the living room where I could here the video game being played.

And there, right in front of my eyes! Were four grown men, well Bradley wasn't quite grown, playing Halo.

"Ahem." I cleared my throat forcefully.

"Yeah, one second honey." Raph said, his eyes still glued to the screen. My eyes widened at his behaviour. I'd only seen my brother act this way, but Raph?! My goodness.

I took out my phone and snapped a picture, with flash on and everything, they didn't even flinch. 'One too many plasma grenades to the head.' I thought sarcastically.

I knew that the Lycans in the room would have heard me, Brad probably had too. I stepped forward and grabbed Bradley's controller and paused the game.

A collective groan came from the group.

"Yeah, hi! Dinner's ready!" I yelled at my full volume, which was quite loud. They all flinched at the noise.

I smiled satisfied.

The three boys filed out, Raph was smiling at me with a sheepish expression, "It's a good game."

"Uh, haha, yeah I know it is, I'm a champion in it. I cream my brother every single time."

Raphael's eyebrows rose in surprise, "So I have a Halo Champion for a mate." He said as he rose from his seat.

I smiled, proud of my accomplishment, "Yes, yes you do." Then before he got too close, I flipped my long hair and turned to walk back to the kitchen.
